This role involves monitoring plant equipment, maximizing production volume and equipment availability, and ensuring strict compliance with all site safety and regulatory standards. The operator will actively participate in identifying and mitigating hazards to maintain a zero lost-time incident environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nOperate, monitor, and adjust processing plant equipment, including crushers, screens, wash plants, and conveyor belt systems to meet daily production targets.\nMaintain strict compliance with all Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations and internal safety protocols.\nConduct continuous housekeeping to prevent the accumulation of combustible materials, specifically coal dust and fines, around active workings and conveyor components.\nPerform routine pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections, immediately identifying and reporting hazards such as unguarded machinery, damaged rollers, or frictional heating risks.\nCoordinate directly with shift supervisors and maintenance personnel to address equipment failures, minimize downtime, and execute process optimization.\nActively participate in daily safety briefings, hazard reporting, and operational training initiatives.\nQualifications & Requirements\nPrior experience in surface mining, heavy industrial processing, or a similar manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.\nDemonstrated understanding of MSHA surface safety standards, hazard mitigation, and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.\nAbility to adapt to shifting operational priorities and transition immediately into crisis management or downtime protocols when required.\nPhysical ability to navigate industrial terrain, perform manual labor, and work in varying weather conditions.\nSchedule Availability: Must be able to work a continuous 24/7 staggered shift rotation, consisting of four days on and two days off, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.\nLegal & Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Disclosures\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nAmerican Anthracite is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
