Performs general construction, maintenance, repair and remodeling of campus facilities. Provides training and mentorship to less experienced employees. Serves as lead in absence of lead. Subject to callback and unscheduled work hours as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.JOB DUTIES:45% - Essential - General Paint and Finishing: Performs painting and general maintenance of interior and exterior of buildings. Refinishes and finishes interior and exterior furniture and cabinets. Performs general repairs on wallpaper. Finishes drywall. Finishes and refinishes furniture. Finishes plaster ceiling and walls.35% - Essential - Building and Construction Maintenance: Performs a wide variety of paint, plaster, drywall, and other related duties involving the maintenance of buildings. Performs base and finish coat procedures of plaster. Performs plaster and dry wall repairs. Estimates and transports materials to and from job site. Performs spraying duties using equipment for paints, stains, lacquers and varnishes. Mixes and matches all types of paints and stains.10% - Essential - Training and Mentorship: Leads, guides, and/or trains others in applicable procedures and techniques. Completes the required training and testing to maintain applicable licensing.10% - Essential - Safety: Promotes a safe workplace and safe work practices. Complies with all applicable OSHA safety mandates and enforcement of University LOTO & PPE policy. Complies with all EPA/DHEC rules.
