LEOMINSTER PUBLIC SCHOOLSSKYVIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL2026-2027 SCHOOL YEARENGLISH LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT (ELD) TEACHERThe English Language Development (ELD) Teacher is responsible for instructing English Language Learners (ELs) in reading, speaking, listening, and writing to help them achieve grade-level proficiency across all subject areas. An ideal candidate would have strong knowledge of English grammar and structure, along with proven methodologies for teaching English to non-native speakers. They also would have strong knowledge of the WIDA English Language Development standards and ACCESS testing to support student growth.Qualifications:A bachelor's degree is requiredValid Massachusetts teacher certification in English as a Second LanguageSEI EndorsementBilingual candidates are encouraged to applyResponsibilities:Teach and implement the WIDA English Language Proficiency Standards using approved language instruction methodsDevelops clear and comprehensive lesson plans that have clear objectivesEmploys a variety of instructional techniques that are tailored to the instructional needs and capabilities of the studentsCo-teach in general education classrooms when needed to support integrated learningWork closely with classroom teachers to scaffold and support students' access to grade-level contentAssessment, Progress Monitoring, and Record-KeepingAdminister the ACCESS English language proficiency testMonitor student progress and develop plans to support studentsFoster a safe inclusive classroom that is conducive to learning and aligned to Standards I & II on the teacher evaluation rubricSalary commensurate with related experience.Please submit transcripts, evidence of DESE licensure and references
