San Francisco Bay Area (Remote)Mission: We're seeking an experienced FP&A Analyst who will be responsible for supporting the company’s financial planning and analysis efforts, with a strong focus on budgeting and transactional matters. You will work closely with various departments to create and maintain budgeting templates and ensure that financial data is accurate and accessible. This role will primarily utilize Google Sheets and Excel for financial modeling, budgeting, and reporting. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial planning and analysis, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Responsibilities & Opportunities In This RoleBudgeting & Forecasting:Develop, maintain, and analyze annual budgets and periodic forecasts to align with business objectivesProject budgeting and forecasting, including integration into spend management platforms & ERPsCollaborate with department leaders to understand financial needs and priorities, ensuring accurate budget allocationsMonitor budget performance and provide variance analyses to identify areas for improvementPerform monthly flux analysis, or ‘budget vs. actuals’ to align on how the business is performing against our budget & create new rolling forecasts to account for changes in business strategyTransactional Matters:Support the preparation and review of financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policiesExperience using ZIP to ensure business compliance within a set budget by project typeAnalyze and resolve transactional discrepancies, working closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial recordsFinancial Analysis:Perform detailed financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savingsDevelop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reports to track key financial metrics and KPIsWeekly cash modeling, understanding key cost drivers of the businessCross-Functional Collaboration:Partner with sales, marketing, operations, and other teams to provide financial insights and support business decisionsDevelop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs and provide tailored financial guidanceFinancial Reporting to External Stakeholders:Prepare financial reports and statements for external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulatory bodiesEnsure compliance with financial regulations and standards in all external reportingSupport the month-end and year-end closing processesProcess Improvement:Identify areas for process improvements in budgeting, forecasting, and transactional workflowsImplement efficiencies to enhance the overall financial planning and analysis functionAd Hoc Projects:Support special projects and analyses as needed, providing financial expertise to drive business outcomesThe Table StakesBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related fieldStrong understanding of financial concepts, including GAAP and financial modeling3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentAdvanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including experience with complex formulas and data visualizationAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Experience with financial modeling techniques, such as 3 statement modeling, FCF forecasting, and scenario planningKnowledge of financial planning and analysis best practices, including financial reporting, budgeting, fundraising, and forecastingExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholdersStrong attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficientlyAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects and deadlinesHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex financial dataThe DifferentiatorsMBA or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related fieldExperience working at or with technology companies, specifically within the Hardware or Artificial Intelligence industriesExperience working in a startup environment & scaling teamsTechnical accounting background, including experience with financial reporting, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g. GAAP, IFRS, SOX)Certification in financial planning and analysis, such as CFA or CPAAttributes Of a GroqsterHumility - Egos are checked at the doorCollaborative & Team Savvy - We make up the smartest person in the room, togetherGrowth & Giver Mindset - Learn it all versus know it all, we share knowledge generouslyCurious & Innovative - Take a creative approach to projects, problems, and designPassion, Grit, & Boldness - no limit thinking, fueling informed risk takingIf this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!CompensationGroq is committed to providing competitive compensation through our Total Cash philosophy, which incorporates potential bonus value directly into base pay. The total cash salary range for this position, which is inclusive of the potential bonus value, is $105,300–$189,600, with individual placement determined by your geographic location, experience, skills, and alignment with internal compensation standards. This range is specific to candidates located in the United States. Compensation for international candidates will vary based on local market dynamics. Beyond cash compensation, Groq currently offers a quarterly bonus as an interim alternative to equity, with plans to introduce long term incentive program participation in the near term future.
