Procurement & Logistics Coordinator

We are seeking a grounded, adaptable, and proactive Procurement & Logistics Coordinator to manage our material pipeline and outbound shipping functions with proven experience in a manufacturing environment.This is a highly active, hands-on role in a manufacturing facility—it is not a sedentary desk job. You will seamlessly balance professional administrative procurement with real-world, on-the-floor warehouse operations. Rather than a "know-it-all" approach, we are looking for a grounded team player who is ready to listen, learn our workflows, and collaborate cleanly with our tenured staff.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and maintain existing relationships with approximately 25 core industrial suppliers (primarily metal fabrication houses, structural steel providers, and plastic molding manufacturers) while identifying and onboarding new vendors.Manage an annual purchasing spend of $2 Million+, leveraging structural Bills of Materials (BOM) to verify material requirements, guarantee order accuracy, and keep production departments fully staged.Directly monitor and reconcile $1 Million in active parts and materials inventory. Note: Our facility relies on manual verification and physical auditing; we do not utilize RF barcode scanning devices.Spend dedicated time in the warehouse physically wrapping, packing, and crating parts sales and outbound shipments. This requires a willingness to perform physical handling and handle logistics firsthand.Generate accurate freight quotes using internal templates, handle shipping documents, and coordinate logistics schedules with commercial carriers.Track, organize, and maintain compliance for controlled substances (e.g., industrial cleaners, oils, manufacturing lubricants), ensuring up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS) are maintained.Systems & TechnologyWe are entering an era of modernization. You will start on our current systems and help us transition to a modern cloud architecture over the next year:Current Systems: ALERE ERP, UPS WorldShip, and manual inventory ledgers.Future State: Moving to Infor CloudSuite Distribution (CSD) within the next 12 months.Qualifications & Physical RequirementsMinimum of 2 years of experience handling purchasing, inventory control, or shipping logistics directly within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.A collaborative, flexible professional with a strong work ethic who handles changing plant priorities gracefully.Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds unassisted; capability to walk, stand, stoop, and pack materials in an environment subject to extreme seasonal weather temperatures
