The tests Materials Technicians perform verify if materials meet specifications.\nLocations: Brenham or Bryan\nDuties & Responsibilities/Essential Functions\nPerform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on construction sites.\nPerform field inspection and testing\nField Concrete Testing: Slump, Air Content, Cast Compressive Strength Specimens\nField Density of In-Place compacted soils\nConduct Reinforcing Steel Observations\nConduct Proof Roll Observations\nLaboratory testing of soils, aggregate and asphalt\nPrepare daily reports and documentation of field activities in electronic format\nMaintain a clean work area: pick up and clean all tools and equipment\nPerform materials handling and storage\nLoad and unload trucks, haul and hoist materials\nEnsure that proper personal protective equipment is worn on all job sites. Brings problems to the attention of your manager or HR manager.\nPossess the ability to fluently read and understand procedures\nSafely operate Gessner Engineering vehicles on the road and within job sites\nMaintain company equipment and vehicles in line with proper use, maintenance, and safety guidelines\nPerform logging and packaging of soil samples\nAssist Drilling team with augers and sampling tools appropriate for unique soil conditions\nCommunicate job site conditions with team and engineering teams as needed\nQualifications\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nLicensure/Certifications\nRequired - Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past 3 years\nPreferred - one or more of the following\nACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification\nACI Concrete Strength Testing\nACI Aggregate Testing\nSB 101 – Materials Properties\nSB 102 – Field Specialist\nSB 201 – Moisture-Density Specialist\nExperience/Skills\nVerbal and written communication skills\nPhysical strength, stamina, and dexterity to lift and move 70 lbs., stoop, bend and stand throughout the course of up to a 12-hour workday in varying weather conditions at various construction sites with varying terrain.\nBe solutions minded.
