These duties include but are not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and masonry to ensure safety standards are met.\n\nEssential Functions\n\nInspection and maintenance:\n\nInspects guestrooms, public spaces and back of house areas and makes repairs as necessary.\n\nVisually inspects and detects items needing repair.\n\nRepairs, touches up or replaces light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, plumbing fixtures, hardware.\n\nMaintains inventory of supplies.\n\nReports major deficiencies and items which cannot be readily repaired to direct supervisor.\n\nAssists Housekeeping team in deep cleaning program\n\nPreventative maintenance and care:\n\nPerforms preventative maintenance of guestrooms, public spaces and back of house areas.\n\nCleans, paints, caulks and grouts as needed\n\n50%\n\nOther Duties and Responsibilities\n\nEnsures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.\n\nAttempts to communicate with guest in guest’s native language, if applicable.\n\nReports maintenance deficiencies, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.\n\nFollows Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, and reports any defective, damaged or lost PPE including equipment that does not fit properly to management.\n\nFollows all safety procedures and able to recognize and act in emergency situations.\n\nEducation and Experience\n\nHigh School Degree or equivalent preferred.\n\nAny combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from trade school, that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities for the position.\n\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\n\nPossesses considerable experience and knowledge of a wide variety of maintenance trades in order to visually inspect and repair items or equipment, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanics.\n\nBasic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment.\n\nExperience in using basic hand and power tools.\n\nPossesses the ability to climb ladders up to 30 feet high and reach in all directions.\n\nAbility to read, write and listen and communicate effectively in English.\n\nPhysical Demands & Work Environment\n\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
