This position can be located in a variety of VHB locations.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nDesign, develop, and maintain enterprise database architectures, data models, and data integration strategies\r\nLead the planning and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing database solutions across multiple business applications\r\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, vendors, and leadership to support enterprise data initiatives and system integration efforts\r\nDesign and support databases and data architectures for transportation safety and crash data management systems, including data integration, reporting, analytics, and data quality initiatives\r\nDevelop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business and technical requirements\r\nDefine database standards, governance practices, naming conventions, and data quality processes\r\nAnalyze current database environments and recommend improvements for performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability\r\nSupport data warehousing, ETL processes, and integration of new data sources into existing enterprise systems\r\nProvide guidance on database administration, indexing strategies, query optimization, backup/recovery planning, and security best practices\r\nReview and evaluate business requirements related to data usage, reporting, analytics, and system performance\r\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and database design specifications\r\nPartner with development teams to ensure alignment between application architecture and database architecture\r\nParticipate in ongoing professional development and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Technology Enablement team\r\nSkills and Attributes\r\nKnowledge of database architecture principles, data modeling methodologies, and data governance best practices\r\nExperience with performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and database troubleshooting\r\nFamiliarity with ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and enterprise system integration\r\nUnderstanding of database security, backup/recovery strategies, and high-availability solutions\r\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills\r\nStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities\r\nAbility to manage multiple priorities independently in a collaborative team environment\r\nSelf-motivated with strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement\r\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite\r\nQualifications\r\n5+ years of directly-related professional database management experience\r\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field\r\nStrong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and relational database technologies including Cloud Platform (MicrosoftAzure or AWS), SSIS packages, SSRS, SSAS, and PowerBI\r\nExperience with Restful API database Integration\r\nExperience or knowledge of .net core API’s preferred\r\nStrong technical expertise with relational databases, SQL development, database administration, and enterprise data modeling\r\nExperience working with transportation crash data, roadway safety systems, or safety management and analytics platforms preferred\r\nFamiliarity with crash data integration, data governance, reporting, and performance measures related to transportation safety initiatives is a plus\r\nExperience supporting enterprise applications and collaborating with software engineering teams\r\nFamiliarity with cloud-based data platforms and modern data architecture practices is a plus\r\nInstalled, configured, and maintained Microsoft SQL Server environments, ensuring database performance, reliability, security, and availability across enterprise applications.\r\nExperience within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry is preferred but not required\r\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work for VHB in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.\r\nThe full-time annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $175,000 if located in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts or Washington D.C and $105,000 to $155,000 if located in Florida or Georgia. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.\r\nWe may consider candidates from another VHB office or state location not currently listed.\r\nAnnual base salary is one component of VHB’s Total Rewards package. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation bonuses, spot bonuses, and merit-based salary increases, providing opportunities to increase earnings beyond base pay.
