Specialties include OSP/ISP engineering, design, permitting, right-of-way, and CAD for traditional and wireless telecommunications companies.\n\nJob Description\nThis person must be an experienced Outside Plant Engineer with the skills and abilities to manage an assigned area (group of exchanges), with little supervision. Must report locally, to the assigned area, managing the daily needs of that area. i.e. field meets with jurisdictions, customers and joint utilities, as needed. Will be responsible for all OSP Engineering duties, following client standards and business directions.\n\nThis person must report daily to the client manager.\n\nThis person must have a valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and physical ability to perform all necessary field work and detailing.\n\nThe following skills and knowledge are necessary to perform these duties effectively:\n\nBachelor’s or equivalent work experience\n\nCapable to perform most all OSP Engineering tasks\n\nAccomplished with basic systems/programs skill sets (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)\n\nAccomplished in and productive with client systems – FROGS, Varasset, SiteTracker, DPI/QPort.\n\nAccomplished in most all types of OSP designs – aerial, buried, U.G. new build designs.\n\nAccomplished in copper and fiber technology/understanding\n\nAccomplished understanding of copper cable counts (binders, groups, super groups), fiber assignments (12 fiber increments)\n\nEffective communications skills – oral and written\n\nAble to participate in utility discussions with government entities – cities, townships, counties, DOTs, etc.\n\nAble to participate and communicate with partner departments on OSP project designs – i.e. operations, central office, construction, etc.\n\nAccomplished with all understandings and requirements of an OSPE, including but not limited to – customer facing skills, knowing partner department’s basic duties, etc. – Accomplished in seeking out needed information or answers to questions.\n\nAble to manage more complex OSPE tasks, i.e. ethernet designs (DSAT/BDTs), basic road moves, DSLAM deployments, copper and fiber cable “right-sizing”, etc.\n\nMust be able to take all the above listed bullets and fully complete OSPE designs.\n\nDrafting, material identification, and ordering\n\nPermitting requirements\n\nPrivate ROW negotiations\n\nEstablishing project milestone dates\n\nThank you for your interest in Mountain Ltd.
