The senior Chemist/Engineer will also support technical service managers through laboratory work to solve field related issues.\nJob Responsibilities\nTake charge of own safety in the day-to-day activities\nPerform any chemical test to CEMEX materials including XRF, XRD, microscopies, laser PSD etc.\nSupervise physical testing of the above-mentioned materials, which requires good knowledge of the tests.\nSupervise the accuracy of the work of junior staff\nTrain junior staff on CEMEX materials matters\nQualifications\nBachelor’s in chemistry, engineering or related field\nProfessional Certification: Not required\nExperience: 4 years required in CEMEX materials\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nSpecialized knowledge: CEMEX materials, their manufacturing process, chemistry, and performance.\nSkills:\no Analytical\no To promote solvency on complex problems\no To develop new testing methods.\nAbilities:\no Promotes teamwork\no Communicates with other CEMEX labs or scientific institutions.\no Creates and corrects reports in timely manner.\no Mentors and teaches other CTC staff.\no Can represent CTC in outside meetings.\no Can direct the work of non-exempt employees.\no Can interact with CEMEX directors with no supervision.\nWorking Conditions\nMostly indoors, in temperature-controlled environment.\nPhysical Requirements\nAt times, requires working in dusty condition\nRequires walking, sitting, lifting\nExerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently\nJob involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate with customers```Duties```\n- Conduct chemical analyses and experiments in the laboratory\n- Perform analytical testing using various techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry\n- Prepare samples and solutions for analysis\n- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments\n- Interpret and analyze test results\n- Document and report findings accurately and in a timely manner\n- Collaborate with team members on research projects\n- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment\n```Skills```\n- Proficient in analytical chemistry techniques and methodologies\n- Experience with chromatography, gas chromatography, and spectroscopy\n- Strong scientific research skills\n- Knowledge of wet chemistry techniques\n- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)\n- Understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)\n- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis\n- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team\n- Strong written and verbal communication skills\nAs a Chemist, you will play a crucial role in conducting chemical analyses, performing tests, and interpreting results.
