Regulatory Specialist

Job Description: The Regulatory Specialist will prepare permit applications for federal, state, and local permits. The Regulatory Specialist will work directly with Senior Environmental Specialists to perform the job responsibilities and assist with preparing and filing applications and permit tracking. Federal permits will include U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Section 404/10 permits; state permits will include Louisiana Department of Conservation & Energy oil/gas well permits and coastal use permits; local permits will include parish/county permits. The Regulatory Specialist will be a champion and leader of our company’s core values while maintaining internal and external customer engagement and satisfaction. Some responsibilities include: Preparing and filing permit applications Tracking permit progress Communicating with clients and preparing status reports Communicating with regulatory agencies Coordinating with Drafting & Design personnel to prepare permit plans and exhibits Researching and providing environmental and regulatory guidance on federal (USACE), state (Conservation & Energy), and local laws to ensure compliance Supporting team members with project permitting at federal, state, and local levels Researching and mining data from Strategic Online Natural Resources Information System (SONRIS) data portal Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a major in Environmental Science or related field Minimum of three (3) years of directly related industry experience is preferred Knowledge of Conservation & Energy regulations related to oil/gas exploration and production Knowledge of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act Familiarity with USACE wetland delineation process and Threated & Endangered species habitat assessments Good verbal and written communication skills Good problem-solving skills Ability to travel; may require occasional overnight stays
