Accounting Associate

Job Title: Accounting AssociateLocation: Milwaukee, WI (On-site)Compensation: Up to $30/hour (Based on experience)About the Organization:My reputable nonprofit client based in Milwaukee, dedicated to making a positive impact in our community. his position is crucial in supporting our mission by maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting operations.Position Overview:The Accounting Associate will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger reconciliation, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.Key Responsibilities:Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, ensure timely payments, and track receivables.General Ledger Maintenance: Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and assist with month-end closing.Financial Reporting: Generate and analyze financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.Budget Tracking: Assist in monitoring budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with grant and funding requirements.Bank Reconciliations: Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.Grant Management Support: Assist in tracking grant funding and ensuring compliance with financial guidelines.Audit Preparation: Support annual audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and reports.Data Entry and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring completeness and accuracy.Qualifications:Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Experience: Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.How to Apply:If you’re a dedicated accounting professional with a passion for accounting, we’d love to hear from you!
