Senior Project Manager - Municipal

Summary:The Civil Engineer will provide design and plan production for general civil design on a wide variety of municipal infrastructure projects which may include storm, sanitary, water, local roads, site plans, recreational facilities, and associated civil engineering activities. Will perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.Essential Functions:Perform engineering calculations in support of civil engineering design projectsManage projects including client communications, public input and feedback, and internal supportPerform AutoCAD Civil 3D design/drafting in support of civil engineering design projectsPerforms, trains, and provides guidance for site investigations, survey work, CAD work, and data collectionPrepares, provides training, provides guidance, and reviews engineering designs and reports which includes design calculations and plan preparationPerforms, provides training for, and guides quality assurance, ensuring projects get carried out as designed and recommend modifications as neededAbility to identify engineering and surveying services needed by the client and the ability to draft proposals and estimate feesCoordinate with government agencies, client staff, and other professionals to obtain design information and approvalsWrite and edit construction specifications and engineering reportsTabulate bid items and calculate construction bid quantities from plans and specifications.Estimate construction costsConduct periodic visits to construction sites to monitor quality and progress of the workKnowledge of financing and funding including public and private sourcesRequired Skills & Behaviors:Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in all work tasksAbility to plan, schedule work and complete work assignments within established budgets and timelinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsCapable of working with a multidisciplinary team of planners, engineers, surveyors, architects, and techniciansBroad computer knowledge in particular Microsoft Office productsAptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications such as AutoCAD Civil 3DMentoring capabilityBroad knowledgebase of civil engineering projects rather than a subject matter expert in any one civil engineering areaOrganizational Relationships:Reports to the Manager of Municipal ServiceMay have responsibility for multiple direct reportsRequired Education/Experience:Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university degree program is requiredexperience in construction or civil engineering fieldActive PE License or ability to obtain within 6 months of employmentTravel: Local travel as requiredOur team members enjoy a comprehensive compensation package that includes:Medical, dental, and vision coverage with eligibility upon hire dateMultiple Medical plans including those with HSA employer contributions.100% Employer paid Short-Term Disability and Long-Term DisabilityReimbursement and support for tuition, continuing education, and personal/professional development.Generous PTO and paid holidays.Opportunities for hybrid and flexible schedules.401(k), Incentive Bonuses, and Ownership Opportunities (we’re 100% employee-owned!).Employee and Family activities including ski and fishing trips, sporting events, and so much more!About WightmanWightman is a full-service consulting firm that exists to service people and the communities we live in.
