About the Opportunity:The Java Software Developer is a mid-level application developer responsible for building features, fixing defects, and contributing to sprint deliveries for the CMS Drug Data Processing System (DDPS) and Payment Reconciliation System (PRS) teams. This role supports the Agile delivery pipeline by developing software enhancements under the guidance of senior technical staff.3. Responsibilities:• Develop, test, and maintain application features for DDPS and PRS, including invoice, dispute, reconciliation, legacy support, and program enhancement functions.• Correct software defects and develop reusable software components and database improvements.• Deliver code through the CMS continuous integration and deployment pipeline using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, SonarQube, and Snyk.• Write and maintain unit tests to achieve at least 80% automated test coverage for new code.• Participate in Agile sprint ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.• Maintain source code and application documentation in accordance with CMS standards.4. Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.• Four or more years of Java application development experience.• Strong Java development skills with a proven history of delivering production-ready features.• Working knowledge of Python for scripting and application support.• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.• Familiarity with AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, S3, and SQS.• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and source control tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and JFrog.• Understanding of unit testing frameworks and the importance of automated test coverage.• Ability to pass CMS and internal background checks for Public Trust.5.
