Marine Dispatcher
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Marine Dispatcher is an execution-oriented position with the primary goal of meeting customer delivery expectations and will be a key contributor to the success of the Holcim Great Lakes Region (GLR). The Logistics Team provides marine shipment services to internal and external customers in the GLR. The incumbent facilitates accurate and timely communication between plant Operations, Sales, Customers and Vessel Carriers and dispatches various fleets under contract. This position schedules and dispatches orders and provides excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction, cost control and promote company sales.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Actively engage with the carriers and quarries to reinforce safe behaviors.
Serve as the initial ‘go-to’ person for Sales, customers and carrier inquiries.
Maintains the Marine shipping schedule to maximize service, minimize costs, and optimize asset utilization.
Review laytime calculations and Bill of Lading information to ensure accuracy.
Track loads split across multiple ports and work to reduce associated expenses.
Complete Customs declarations.
Liaises with customer site representatives to facilitate schedules and marine activities.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years of equivalent experience. Field of Study Preferred: Business or supply Chain
Required Work Experience: 3-5 years
Required Computer and Software Skills: Micosoft Excel & Google Suite. Experience using scheduling software preferred.
Additional Requirements:
Excellent oral (telephone) communication skills.
Ability to professionally interact with internal and external customers
Strong drive and dedication towards issue resolution
Strong ability to build relationships with customers, carriers and other schedulers
Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
