Technical Accounting Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Consultant to join our clients finance team on a project basis. In this pivotal role, you will lead the preparation of external SEC filings, research complex accounting issues, and ensure strict compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations. You will collaborate closely with executive leadership, external auditors, and cross-functional teams to navigate non-routine transactions and reporting requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesSEC Reporting: Manage the end-to-end preparation and coordination of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K.Financial Statements: Oversee the accurate and timely compilation of primary financial statements, footnotes, XBRL tagging, and MD&A disclosures.Technical Accounting Research: Act as the subject matter expert on complex accounting topics (e.g., business combinations ASC 805, revenue recognition ASC 606, share-based compensation, and leasing standards).Documentation: Draft comprehensive technical accounting position papers and memos to document management’s assessment and conclusion on new/complex transactions.New Pronouncements: Lead the evaluation, implementation, and adoption of new FASB/SEC accounting standards and regulatory updates.Audit Liaison: Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors regarding quarterly reviews, annual audits, and resolution of significant accounting matters.Internal Controls: Ensure operating effectiveness of internal controls (SOX) over the financial reporting and technical accounting cycles.Ad-Hoc Projects: Support strategic initiatives, including M&A transactions, divestitures, or IPO readiness.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA preferred8+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or a corporate SEC reporting/technical accounting roleDeep, hands-on knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and FASB
