Relocation will be provided if needed.\nPosition Summary: Primary functions are planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring health, safety and environmental policies and programs to analyze and control conditions contributing to occupational and environmental hazards at Polyglass facilities in NV, PA, FL, TX and AZ locations\nThis position reports to the Executive Vice President of Manufacturing and provides an interface with all departments as required for environmental, health, and safety policies, regulations, and programs. This position directs the activities of the Corporate EHS Specialist 100% of the time and Operations Coordinators for approximately 10% of their time. This position also involves very close liaison with, and support and coordination of, OSHA, EPA, and local, state, and federal guidelines and requirements.\nResponsibilities:\nPromotes health, safety and environmental regulations by ensuring that Work Instructions (WI’s) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are adhered to in compliance with corporate, federal, state, and local requirements.\nPromotes the quality system through adhering to the elements of and being familiar with the philosophy, quality statement, quality manual, and procedures.\nDevelops, provides, and/or recommends safety programs and associated training such as but not limited to:\nEmergency Action Plans\nPowered industrial trucks (forklifts)\nPersonal protective equipment\nMachine guarding\nHazardous material communications\nLockout-tag out\nConfined spaces\nRespiratory protection\nFirst aid, CPR, Blood-borne pathogens, etc.\nPortable fire extinguishers\nChemical hygiene in laboratories\nProvides technical guidance to the Plant Managers, site Operations Coordinators and hourly workers as it relates to environmental, health, and safety.\nRecommends and purchases equipment, devices, and programs designed to reduce or eliminate safety and environmental hazards.\nPlans, coordinates and conducts plant audits of all domestic Polyglass facilities for program implementation, training, and recordkeeping relating to safety and environmental compliance.\nCoordinates the collection of data and prepares internal reports and those required at Federal, State and Local levels. Examples include SARA 312 & 313, NESHAP reporting, Stormwater, Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasures, Air Permits, OSHA logs and Department of Homeland Security.\nMaintains working knowledge of new developments in the industry and government regulations pertaining to environmental, safety, and health issues.\nCoordinates and manages the activities of outside resources such as consultants and contractors.\nPerforms other duties as required.\nRequirements:\nMinimum of 5 years’ experience in EH&S role is required including management of EHS staff\nBachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred. Associate’s degree will be considered.\nISO-9001-2015 experience preferred\nTravel as needed (expected travel is 25% on average)\nLocation for this position will be within commutable distance to one of our primary facilities in TX, FL, PA or NV, with Waco, TX being the preferred location.
