With offices across Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Maryland, we offer the stability of an established company with the close-knit culture and accessibility of a smaller team.\nJob Description:\nThe Assistant Project Manager will working onsite at project location and be coordinating with and assisting the Project Manager, vendors, subcontractors and ESDG Management to determine the need for manpower, materials, and equipment. The Asst. Project Manager will be the direct liaison with the Government Contracting Official as well as directing the daily activities of subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with contract documents, safety rules, and quality/ security requirements to maximize production and eliminate disruptions and downtime. Ensures the construction schedule and budget are kept in accordance to plan.\nJob Responsibilities:\nMaintains high level of professionalism and carries out a policy of courtesy and superior customer service. Exercises tact, good manners, and diplomacy.\nMaintains a thorough understanding of commercial construction industry practices and standards.\nAccomplishes construction project results by defining project purpose and scope; calculating resources required; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders.\nMeets construction budget by monitoring project expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions; providing non-project annual operating and capital budget information.\nSupervises the coordination and input as needed with the contractors’ providing services and infrastructure.\nMeets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements.\nManages sub-contractors by locating, evaluating, and selecting sub-contractors; monitors, controls performance, and ensures quality workmanship.\nOversees preparation of daily logs and reports of construction activity for office submittal.\nSupervises change proposals, proposal requests, requests for information; supplemental instructions and other contract documentation are required on behalf of ESDG.\nEnsures each subcontractor is provided with ESDG’s subcontract package and all agreements, submittals, required government documents, W-9, Certificate of Insurance, Certified Payroll, Lien Waivers, Schedule of Values, etc. are signed and returned to ESDG headquarters.\nMaintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures to complying with legal regulations and OSHA standards.\nSchedules and conducts required Pre-Construction Contractor Quality Control (CQC) and safety meetings with every individual on the jobsite.\nCommunicates progress of projects to the Project Manager and ensures deadlines are met.\nProvides coordination and input as needed with contractors providing services and infrastructure for the project including schedule and cost management.\nMonitors and ensures schedule performance and quality workmanship of contractors.\nPrepares and submits daily log and reports of construction activities to requiring authority.\nReviews change proposals, proposal requests, requests for information, supplemental instructions and other contract documentation as required on behalf of ESDG.\nReviews and approves subcontractor payment requests and forward them to the Project Manager for approval.\nAttends local meetings, approval meetings, conferences on behalf of ESDG.
