This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong sewing and alteration abilities, and a commitment to excellence. As a key member of a high-performing team, the Tailor is expected to demonstrate reliability, accuracy, efficiency, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction. The Tailor also contributes to a positive and professional work environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues and upholding company standards at all times.\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nTailor Shop Production & Operations\n\nEfficiently perform standard alterations - including but not limited to pant hems, waist and seat adjustments, rise and tapering modifications, coat sleeves, side seams, and lower collar adjustments - in alignment with company guidelines.\nMaintain an average of 60 minutes of productive alteration work per working hour, allowing for appropriate rest and meal periods and time for non-tailoring tasks as needed.\nEnsure all garments meet high-quality standards, including clean finishes, secure stitching, even seams, and the removal of loose threads and pins.\nPress garments to ensure a clean crisp finish.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace; ensure all tools and materials are properly stored and well-maintained.\nDemonstrate proficiency with all tailor shop equipment.\nEnsure completed work is accurately tagged, organized, and ready for customer pickup.\nAssist with inventory management by monitoring tailoring supplies and requesting replenishment from management as needed.\n\nCustomer Service\nSupport front-of-house activities as needed, such as cleaning, restocking merchandise, or assisting customers.\nParticipate in customer consultations at the direction of management, offering guidance and recommendations on alterations and garment fit.\nDeliver an exceptional customer experience by listening to customer needs and offering personalized solutions.\nAdapt to changing workload priorities and scheduling needs as directed by management.\n\nTeam Based Work Environment\n\nShare specialized tailoring knowledge and/or techniques with fellow tailors to ensure consistent quality and ongoing skill development.\nAssist in training sales staff on tailoring fundamentals, including marking, fitting, measuring and pressing techniques.\nSeek and respond to constructive feedback from your management team and communicate concerns or requests promptly.\nReport any incidents, accidents, or safety hazards to the manager on duty and/or your Regional Manager.\nSupport sales staff by providing tailoring insights that enhance product knowledge and improve the customer experience.\nUphold standards of professional appearance and personal care.\n\nPhysical and Mental Requirements\n\nAbility to operate small tools and equipment - including, but not limited to, needles, scissors, sewing machines, and presses, with precision.\nAbility to understand, follow, and execute detailed instructions.\nAbility to sit and stand for extended periods of time.\nStrong attention to detail to ensure all garments meet quality standards.\nExcellent time management skills to complete each alteration efficiently within designated timeframes.\nAbility to communicate clearly and professionally.\nAbility to read, count, and write to complete required documentation accurately.\nPhysically able to bend, squat, lift arms overhead, and use ladders to access merchandise and supplies stored above shoulder level.\nAbility to work at least 40 hours per week when needed, including any hours the store is in operation.\n\ncareers.tailoredbrands.com\n\nYou may have the opportunity to voluntarily work between multiple store or site locations, and across multiple brands.\n\nOur company celebrates diversity and provides equal employment opportunity to all applicants and employees without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, religion, veteran or military status, age, physical or mental disability, marital status, or any other protected status under the law.\n\nPay Range: $18.28-$29.24/hourly\n\nWe take into consideration an individual’s skills, background and experience in determining final salary.
