This position serves as a key contributor in integrating development, security, and operations practices throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring compliance with Federal security project managers, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and automated application solutions supporting NIEHS mission requirements.\n\nKey Tasks & Responsibilities\nEngineering and CI/CD Automation\n\nDesign, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise CI/CD pipelines supporting software development and deployment activities.\n\nDevelop automated workflows for code integration, testing, security validation, packaging, release management, and deployment.\n\nAdminister and support CI/CD platforms including:\n\nJenkins\n\nGitLab CI/CD\n\nGitHub Actions\n\nSupport source code management platforms and branching strategies.\n\nImplement deployment automation across development, integration, testing, staging, and production environments.\n\nMonitor pipeline performance and continuously improve delivery efficiency and reliability.\n\nMigrate software builds through development, testing, integration, and production environments.\n\nMonitor deployment activities and remediate deployment failures within established service level agreements.\n\nInfrastructure as Code and Automation\n\nDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.\n\nImplement automated configuration management using Ansible.\n\nDevelop reusable infrastructure modules, templates, and automation frameworks.\n\nAutomate operational, administrative, and deployment processes.\n\nSupport environment standardization and infrastructure modernization initiatives.\n\nImplement automated provisioning and configuration management capabilities across enterprise environments.\n\nContainer Platform Engineering\n\nSupport containerized application deployments using Docker and Kubernetes platforms.\n\nAdminister Rancher-managed Kubernetes environments.\n\nManage container image lifecycle processes and private container registries.\n\nImplement container security best practices and vulnerability remediation procedures.\n\nSupport runtime security monitoring and compliance initiatives.\n\nAssist application teams with container adoption, deployment patterns, and troubleshooting.\n\nApplication Security and Integration\n\nIntegrate security controls and automated testing throughout the Software Development Lifecycle.\n\nConfigure and maintain application security tools including:\n\nOpenText Fortify (SAST)\n\nDynamic Application Security Testing (DAST)\n\nSoftware Composition Analysis (SCA)\n\nSecrets Management and Scanning Tools\n\nReview vulnerability findings and collaborate with development teams to remediate issues.\n\nImplement automated security gates and quality control processes.\n\nSupport secure software development initiatives aligned with Federal security requirements.\n\nPromote DevSecOps best practices across development and operations teams.\n\nVulnerability Management and Compliance\n\nSupport vulnerability management activities using Tenable and related security platforms.\n\nConduct vulnerability assessments, remediation tracking, and risk analysis.\n\nDevelop mitigation strategies when vulnerabilities cannot be remediated within required service levels.\n\nCoordinate mitigation approvals with Information System Security Officers (ISSOs).\n\nImplement approved mitigation plans following established change management procedures.\n\nMaintain compliance with:\n\nFISMA\n\nNIST 800-53\n\nNIST Secure Software Development Framework (SSDF)\n\nNIH and HHS security policies\n\nZero Trust Architecture principles\n\nSupport discipline.\n\nExperience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines in enterprise environments.\n\nExperience working with Git-based source control systems.\n\nExperience supporting Windows and Linux environments.\n\nExperience developing automation scripts and tools.\n\nCertifications\n\nSecurity+\n\nTerraform Associate\n\nCertified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)\n\nCertified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)\n\nGitLab CI/CD Certification\n\nAzure Fundamentals or equivalent cloud certification\n\nCertified DevSecOps Professional\n\nITIL Foundation\n\nSecurity Clearance\n\nApplicants
