General Excavating specializes in the construction of underground utilities, environmental remediation, excavation shoring, directional drilling, hydro-excavation, and heavy civil including bridge and concrete structures.\r\nGeneral Excavating is searching for a Foreman who is expected to manage construction projects that generate profits for the company. This role is ultimately responsible for the day-to-day management of projects and on-site craft personnel and subcontractors. Directs, schedules, supervises, and coordinates activities of personnel to obtain optimum use of equipment and facilities. Provides overall management of construction project sites and procurement through final acceptance, while ensuring project safety. Maximizes profits and cost controls to maintain stability and growth of the organization by performing the following duties personally and through subordinates.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\r\nStudies specifications and plans to coordinate procedures for appropriate construction methods based on project start and completion.\r\nStudies staffing and equipment needs for each phase of construction and directs and supervises construction activities and related staffing/equipment needs.\r\nDirects on-site personnel engaged in planning the work procedures, executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, plans, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.\r\nConfers with supervisory personnel, owners, engineers, inspectors, contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers to resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints or construction problems to improve construction methods and performance.\r\nInspects and reviews work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications, plans, schedules, and safety compliance.\r\nPrepares or reviews reports on progress and costs related to materials, equipment and labor used and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.\r\nControls any disputes with the public and customers, including damage to personal property or repair to public facilities.\r\nConfers and cooperates with other on-site personnel in following administrative, operational policies and procedures.\r\nInvestigates and reports damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper construction procedures are being followed.\r\nMonitors compliance with project safety program requirements. Documents and ensures corrective measures are implemented as necessary.\r\nEnforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and governmental regulations.\r\nPrepares recommendations for management performance evaluation.\r\nOther duties may be assigned.\r\nQualifications\r\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
