This includes custom application development, NetSuite customization development, and the integration layer that connects BSF’s systems.\nThis role sits at the intersection of technology and operations. The Manager assists the business analysts with translating business requirements into architected working software, manages a team of developers across multiple platforms and disciplines, and ensures BSF’s development investments are delivered on time, on scope, and built to last. As BSF’s system portfolio grows: with AI applications for specific needs, MES, PIM/DAM, Demand Planning, and CRM all in flight or on the horizon: this role will be a critical force multiplier for the IT Organization.\nTEAM SCOPE\nThe Manager leads a team of developers across three functional areas:\nApplication Development\nCustom application development supporting BSF’s operational and commercial teams\nMaintenance and enhancement of existing BSF applications\nFront-end and back-end development across BSF’s application portfolio\nSupport .Net, node.js and other development platforms as needed\nNetSuite Development\nNetSuite customization, scripting, and configuration in support of Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain\nNetSuite SuiteScript development, workflow automation, and saved search management\nBuild to a standard that makes administration and governance straightforward: NetSuite user access, roles, permissions, and production stability are owned by IT Operations, not Development\nPartner with the other IT Leaders on the handoff between development work and production deployment: what gets built in Dev, gets governed in Ops.\nDrive BSF’s NetSuite strategy toward configuration over customization: reducing technical debt and making the system easier to administer and govern\nIntegration Development\nDesign and maintenance of integrations between BSF’s core systems using integration platforms\nOwnership of the integration layer as new systems are brought online\nCollaboration with the Data Engineering team to ensure clean data flows between operational systems and the analytics platform\nAI & Automation Development\nOwnership of BSF’s internal AI agent architecture: Azure Web Apps for the front end, Entra ID for authentication, and Azure Functions for secure API key management\nBuild and maintain the integration and infrastructure layer behind AI-powered internal tools\nTreat AI/automation work as a first-class part of the development backlog, not a side project: scoped, prioritized, and resourced alongside NetSuite, application, and integration work\nCORE RESPONSIBILITIES\nTeam Leadership & Development\nLead, coach, and develop a team of application and NetSuite developers\nSet clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and create an environment where technical talent can grow\nBuild team capacity through deliberate skill development, knowledge sharing, and cross-training: actively reducing single points of failure\nConduct performance conversations with honesty and directness, and escalate personnel concerns with documentation\nDelivery & Execution\nOwn the development backlog: prioritize ruthlessly, assign clearly, and deliver predictably\nEstablish and maintain development standards, code review practices, and deployment processes\nDrive projects from requirements to production with clear timelines, defined owners, and visible status\nPartner with Manager of EBS, Business Analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions, and push back when scope is unclear or unrealistic\nAI Agent & Automation Development\nOwn the technical architecture behind BSF’s internal AI agents: Azure Web Apps for the front end, Entra ID for authentication, and Azure Functions for secure API key management\nPartner directly with IT Leadership to evaluate, scope, and build AI-powered internal tools, applying the same standards for security, documentation, and production readiness as any other system\nBuild reusable patterns for AI agent development rather than one-off solutions, so each new use case is faster to deliver than the last\nCross-Functional Partnership\nWork directly with business stakeholders in Finance, Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain to understand their system needs\nRepresent the development team’s capacity and commitments honestly: no overpromising, no silent underdelivering\nOperate as a true peer to the other IT leadership: the boundary between what Dev builds and what Ops governs requires constant communication, mutual respect, and clean handoffs.\nPartner with the Sr. Director of Data & Analytics to ensure application and integration work supports the data platform roadmap\nSupport the evaluation and implementation of integrations for new systems as needed\nWHAT THIS ROLE REQUIRES\nProven ability to lead and develop a team of software developers, not just manage the work\nHands-on technical credibility: enough to review code, challenge estimates, and earn the trust of the team\nExperience with NetSuite development: SuiteScript, workflow automation, and configuration: or demonstrated ability to build that expertise quickly\nExperience with Azure cloud-native development (Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Static Web Apps) and authentication patterns like Entra ID, or demonstrated ability to build that expertise quickly\nFamiliarity with AI/LLM integration patterns (API-based agent development, secure key management) and the judgment to build production-grade tools around them, not just experiment with them\nStrong instincts for prioritization: the ability to say no, explain why, and hold the line\nA builder’s mindset: someone who creates structure where there isn’t any and improves what they inherit\nThe ability to operate as a peer: you build lateral relationships with other functional leaders, resolve handoff issues directly, and don’t need a mediator to work through shared accountability\nClear, direct communication with both technical teammates and non-technical business stakeholders\nComfort operating in a high-growth, high-ambiguity environment where the roadmap is real but the ground is still shifting\nHOW WE LEAD AT BSF\nLeadership at BSF is not a title: it’s a practice. We expect our leaders to know their people, develop them deliberately, and hold themselves accountable for the growth of everyone on their team.\nYou know every person on your team: their strengths, their growth edges, what motivates them, and what’s getting in their way. You can speak to each one without looking at notes.\nYou give feedback directly and in the moment, not just in reviews, not softened into meaninglessness, and not saved up until it becomes a bigger conversation than it needs to be.\nYou can tell the difference between someone who needs coaching, someone who’s in the wrong seat, and someone who’s in the wrong organization. You act on that difference with clarity and care.\nYou develop people by raising the bar, not by protecting them from it.\nYou build teams that don’t depend on you to function. Knowledge lives in the team, not in one person: including you.\nYou model what you expect. If you want accountability, you’re accountable. If you want transparency, you’re transparent first.\nBenefits:\n401(k) 4% Match\nAD&D insurance\nFlexible schedule\nHealth insurance\nLife insurance\nPaid holidays\nPaid time off\nSnacks provided\nVision insurance\nWork Location: In person","company":"Bsf","rawCompany":"bsf","city":"Jacksonville","state":"FL","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-07-08T07:45:23.753Z","occupations":[{"code":"15-1252.00","title":"Software Developers","slug":"software-developers"},{"code":"11-3021.00","title":"Computer and Information Systems Managers","slug":"computer-and-information-systems-managers"},{"code":"15-1299.08","title":"Computer Systems Engineers/Architects","slug":"computer-systems-engineers-architects"}],"industries":[{"code":"541511","title":"Custom Computer Programming Services","slug":"custom-computer-programming-services"},{"code":"513210","title":"Software Publishers","slug":"software-publishers"},{"code":"541512","title":"Computer Systems Design Services","slug":"computer-systems-design-services"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Software Development Manager","description":"ABOUT THE ROLE\nThe Manager of Software Development is the technical lead and people leader for BSF’s software development function: the team responsible for building, integrating, and maintaining the applications that run the business.
