The successful candidate will lead the analysis, design, and optimization of structural systems and infrastructure for data center environments, ensuring structural integrity, code compliance, and the continuous operation of mission‑critical facilities.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\nServe as Lead Structural Engineer (SE) to provide conceptual and detailed design of building structure in pre-sales stage and post sales stages\nWork with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes.\nDetailed design of mechanical parts – lifting points, anchoring points, flashings, gutters, etc.\nCreate designs which meet or exceed Vertiv quality requirements and fall within budgetary requirements.\nProvide a detailed Schematic Design(SD), Detail Design(DD) and Construction Drawing(CD) narrative for structural design aspects of the solution\nReview and approve structural product submittals.\nProvide Static and Dynamic (blast impact) calculations\nCoordinate with Mechanical Engineer on thermal transfer calculations (fire ratings and thermal bridges)\nDetailed design of foundation requirements\nManage and coordinate contracted engineering companies in regards to civil work calculations, mechanical and structural calculations and creation of factory documentation.\nMaterial specification – structural and finish\nWork with Vertiv’s business units, Business Partners and preferred vendors to specify the appropriate material specifications and sizes for the fabrication process to succeed.\nDefine project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to and during construction phases.\nWelding procedure and inspection specification\nProvide Nondestructive examination (NDE) methods specification\nProvide Surface preparation and painting specification\nDevelop and provide Dimensional test procedure\nDevelop and provide structural load test procedure and calculation\nCoordination between architectural and civil work design\nProvide technical project coordination with customers and suppliers\nQuality control during execution\nProvide support for all on site module repairs (damaged paint, door malfunction etc.)\nWork with fabrication teams to properly check and validate construction process, welding specifications and weld inspection points during construction of the module.\nTravel to fabricators facility for design validation and review their workmanship as well as provide engineering evaluations and workmanship audits as needed.\nMay communicate with the customer in order to design the best possible solution for his needs.\nOffer creative, out of the box solutions to the customer.\nJOB QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or acceptable experience\nProfessional engineering (PE) License – optional\nMinimum 4 years of mechanical/structural engineering experience\nKnowledge of local, state, & federal codes governing the installation and use of low voltage switchboards/switchgear.\nWorking knowledge in AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit\nProven experience with Microsoft Office Applications\nExperience reading and interpreting construction drawings and equipment specifications\nKnowledge and understanding of local and national building codes\nMust be able to interpret customer specification requirements\nMust have the ability to research new designs, technologies and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities\nAbility to think outside the box to find creative and innovative solutions to reduce costs with no impact on quality, reliability or maintainability.\nMust possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal.\nDetail oriented.\nProven leadership and problem solving skills.\nProven Project Management skills\nTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS\n1) 15 – 25% Domestic and International travel required\n\nAbout Vertiv\nVertiv is a $8.0 billion global critical infrastructure and data center technology company.
