Employment TypeFull timeShiftDay ShiftDescriptionClass June 8th - June 18th** The Patient Care Technician (PCT) Training Program is a temporary training position created to prepare colleagues without prior Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience or training for placement into a permanent PCT/Nursing Assistant role. The program provides foundational education and hands-on clinical experience necessary to safely assist with patient care under direct supervision.Upon successful completion of the program and all required competencies, colleagues will transition into a Patient Care Technician/Nursing Assistant position. Duties may vary by shift and/or be unit-specific based on operational needs.Program OverviewThe PCT Training Program consists of classroom instruction and skills lab practice delivered over a two-week period.Program ScheduleMonday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.Program StructureWeeks 1: Classroom instruction and skills lab trainingWeek 2: Hospital Wide Orientation – Monday 7:45 AMNursing orientation – Tuesday – Thursday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PMProgram Completion RequirementsAcceptance into the Patient Care Technician Training ProgramMandatory full attendance at all scheduled training sessionsSuccessful completion of all program coursework and clinical requirements within the timeframe identified in the job offerFailure to attend or complete any portion of the program will result in removal from the training program.Post-Program RoleUpon Successful Completion Of The Program, Colleagues Will Be Placed Into a Patient Care Technician/Nursing Assistant Position Working 12-hour Shifts, Which May IncludeDay Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.Night Shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.Position requires rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.BenefitsPaid trainingQualificationsEducation & ExperienceNo prior CNA or PCT experience requiredAge RequirementMust be 16 years of age or olderPre‑Employment RequirementsAll pre-employment requirements must be successfully completed prior to the program start date, including:Drug screenPhysicalBackground checkTrinity Health / MercyOne StatementTrinity Health and its sponsoring hospitals are equal opportunity employers.
