Reporting to the Controller, this position oversees core accounting functions, including monthly and annual close processes, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and compliance. The Assistant Controller partners closely with accounting staff, leadership, IT, HR, and external partners to ensure financial information is accurate, reporting is timely, and leaders have the insights needed to make informed business decisions in a fast-paced ACEC firm.\n\nResponsibilities\nSupport the Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations and core financial functions.\n\nManage monthly and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.\nPrepare financial reports and account analyses to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.\nReconcile bank accounts, balance sheet and income statement accounts, accounting systems, and check registers.\nEnsure compliance with GAAP, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements, and company policies.\nDevelop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and accounting processes.\nCoordinate year-end financial reporting, CPA reviews, audit requests, and necessary adjustments.\nCalculate FAR overhead rates in accordance with FAR Part 31.\nMaintain lease amortization schedules, Right-of-Use asset calculations, and notes receivable and payable rollforward schedules.\nPrepare and review secured and unsecured property statements and related reporting.\nProvide accounting guidance and training to accounting staff, project managers, and new employees.\nCollaborate with leadership, HR, IT, and other departments to improve financial and project-management reporting.\nSupport accounting integration, financial data collection, and transition activities related to company acquisitions.\nProvide guidance and oversight to accounting staff, as assigned.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\n\n2-3 or more years of progressive accounting or financial-reporting experience, preferably within a multi-entity or project-based organization.\nExperience with month-end close, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and year-end CPA coordination.\nStrong knowledge of GAAP and FAR principles, including accrual- and cash-basis accounting.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with accounting or ERP systems.\nStrong analytical, organizational, data-analysis, and problem-solving abilities.\nAbility to manage competing priorities, complex reconciliations, and multiple deadlines.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and organizational levels.\nCollaborative approach with demonstrated experience supporting process improvements and cross-functional initiatives.\nAbility to handle confidential financial and employee information with discretion.\nPrevious supervisory experience preferred.\nExperience with Deltek Vantagepoint, QuickBooks, and Power BI preferred.","company":"Provost Pritchard","rawCompany":"provost pritchard","city":"Clovis","state":"CA","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-08-03T21:28:55.555Z","occupations":[{"code":"13-2011.00","title":"Accountants and Auditors","slug":"accountants-and-auditors"},{"code":"43-3031.00","title":"Bookkeeping, Accounting, and Auditing Clerks","slug":"bookkeeping-accounting-and-auditing-clerks"},{"code":"11-3031.01","title":"Treasurers and Controllers","slug":"treasurers-and-controllers"}],"industries":[{"code":"541219","title":"Other Accounting Services","slug":"other-accounting-services"},{"code":"551114","title":"Corporate, Subsidiary, and Regional Managing Offices","slug":"corporate-subsidiary-and-regional-managing-offices"},{"code":"541211","title":"Offices of Certified Public Accountants","slug":"offices-of-certified-public-accountants"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Assistant Controller","description":"Summary\n\nProvost & Pritchard is looking for an Assistant Controller to play a key role in protecting the financial integrity and supporting the operational efficiency of the organization.
