Maintenance activities can range from janitorial, caretaker, manual maintenance work, carpentry, painting and plumbing.\nRESPONSIBILITIES Lead and manage all maintenance operations while promoting a strong safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with EHS, OSHA, EPA, PSM, RMP, ISO, and regulatory requirements.\nDevelop, implement, and oversee preventive, corrective, and compliance maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.\nManage mechanical integrity programs, including inspections of tanks, pressure vessels, safety devices, PSV systems, and compliance with RAGAGEP standards.\nLead maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution activities to improve workflow efficiency, equipment performance, and overall plant reliability.\nSupervise, coach, and develop maintenance teams, contractors, and technical personnel while ensuring training, performance management, and skill development.\nManage contractor programs, including selection, coordination, performance oversight, safety compliance, and partnership with Procurement on service agreements.\nPlan and execute maintenance turnarounds, shutdowns, and major repair activities while ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and cost control.\nSupport CAPEX projects and long-term asset reliability strategies by collaborating with Engineering and cross-functional teams on equipment improvements.\nManage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, SAP/ERP maintenance processes, cost forecasting, and resource planning to support operational goals.\nPartner with site leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis (RCA), reliability improvements, and long-term maintenance strategies.\nREQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field is preferred.\n3–5+ years of maintenance leadership experience is preferred; or 10+ years of equivalent maintenance leadership experience, preferably in the chemical process industry.\nProven ability to lead maintenance teams, drive projects, build employee engagement, and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.\nStrong experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), troubleshooting, reliability improvements, and maintenance best practices.\nWorking knowledge of SAP or CMMS systems, Process Safety Management (PSM), and maintenance planning processes.\nStrong understanding of mechanical integrity standards and regulatory requirements, including API, ASME, NFPA, NEC, BPVC, STI, and UL standards preferred.\nExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments, teams, and diverse backgrounds.\nThe Evonik Group adopts an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) approach.
