In this role, you will:\n\nDesign, develop, and maintain HL7 interfaces between healthcare systems including EHR, LIS, RIS, billing, and third-party platforms\nBuild and support real-time and batch data integrations to enable seamless communication across systems\nConfigure and manage integration engines / middleware platforms to route, transform, and validate messages\nDevelop data mappings, transformations, and workflows for healthcare message processing\nMonitor interface performance and troubleshoot message failures, data inconsistencies, and connectivity issues\nCollaborate with clinical IT teams, vendors, and internal engineering teams to implement and support integrations\nDevelop and maintain API-based integrations and service-based architectures where appropriate\nDocument interface specifications, data mappings, workflows, and architecture diagrams\nEnsure integrations comply with HIPAA and healthcare security standards\nParticipate in system upgrades, interface testing, and deployment activities\n\nWhat You'll Bring\n\nWe're looking for an experienced integration engineer who can bridge technical systems and clinical operations with sound judgment and clear communication. The ideal candidate will:\n\nCollaborate effectively with clinical IT teams, vendors, and internal engineering teams\nCommunicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders\nApply strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex integration issues\nMaintain thorough documentation and strong attention to detail\nWork independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment\nDemonstrate a strong commitment to healthcare compliance and data security\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Health Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience)\n7–10 years of experience in software engineering or healthcare system integration\nExperience working with HL7 messaging standards (v2.x), including message types such as ADT, ORM, ORU, and SIU\nHands-on experience with integration engines or middleware platforms\nProficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript\nExperience working with REST APIs, XML, JSON, and message-based architectures\nStrong troubleshooting skills for system-to-system integrations and data workflows\nWorking knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, data transformation, and integration architecture\nAwareness of HIPAA and healthcare security compliance requirements\n\nIf you need assistance with the application process or would like to request a paper application, please contact Skytron's Human Resources Department at 800.759.8766.\n\nWe are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
