Paints interior and exterior structures. (20%)\nAssists with picking up trash around the airport grounds and inside the terminal. (10%)\nAssists in the maintenance of airport systems that may include heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and computer controls, functions and/or operations. (10%)\nResponds to baggage tie-ups/jams (5%)\n\nLoad, unload, and position baggage up to 60 pounds.\nHandles all luggage with care.\nMonitors baggage system and responds/resets as situation requires (5%)\nKeeps the baggage system clean and maintains baggage areas (5%)\nDevelops and maintains beneficial relationships with airport staff, tenants, concessionaires, and airport users. (5%)\n\nObserves safety and security procedures, uses equipment and materials safely and reports potentially unsafe conditions. (5%)\nServes the community by demonstrating Eagle County Government mission and core values and following relevant policies and procedures. (5%)\nOther duties as assigned. (10%)\nQualifications\nEducation, Experience, Licensure, Certification, or Registration:\nMinimum Work Experience\nMinimal relevant work experience is beneficial.\nSkill and knowledge to perform routine tasks would be helpful.\nPreferred Work Experience\n1 year physical work experience involving heavy lifting and carrying.\n1 year airport experience\n1 year experience with mechanical systems\n1 year experience with irrigation systems\n1 year experience with landscaping\n1 year experience with equipment operation\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nMust successfully pass a 10 year background criminal history records check in accordance with TSR, Part 1542 and maintain eligibility for FAA and TSA-mandated security clearance requirements.\nProblem-solving skills\nMaintains professional attitude and focus under pressure\nFollows verbal and written instructions and procedures\nMaintains confidentiality for security matters\nEstablishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, tenants, other governmental agencies and departments, community, airport users, and the traveling public.\nAbility to exert up to 60+ pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently; reaching, extending hands in any direction; handling, seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with hand(s); fingering, picking and pinching with fingers.\nSome heavy lifting of objects up to 70 lbs.\nFlexibility necessary to bend, stoop, kneel or otherwise move around while accomplishing various maintenance tasks.\nHear normal conversational tones and a wide variety of tones associated with equipment and emergency alerts.\nWilling to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays\nClimb ladders and work in small, tight areas.\nWork independently, staying alert throughout the day.\nCulture & Benefits\nWorking in local government is one of the best career paths in the mountains. ‘Your Career will Soar with Eagle County'.
