About the job Aircraft Mechanic Job Title: A&P MechanicLocation: Titusville, FloridaSalary: $30-$36 an HourDetails:Recruiting Heroes LLC is currently seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic (A&P) on behalf of a leading provider of manned and unmanned aircraft operations supporting defense and commercial missions. This organization delivers Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) services to U.S. and international partners and operates a fleet of mission-ready aircraft in dynamic operational environments.This role reports to the Maintenance Lead and is responsible for inspecting, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining aircraft to ensure mission readiness and regulatory compliance. Positions are available within the Contiguous United States (CONUS) on either a contracted or full-time basis.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance on all aircraft systems including:Piston enginesPropellersAirframe and flight controlsLanding gear systemsTroubleshooting aircraft systemsSheet metal and composite repairPerform all maintenance in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and manufacturer technical dataMaintain hand tools and special tools in safe and serviceable conditionEnsure personal and company tool accountabilityConduct serviceability checks prior to operating powered and non-powered support equipmentMaintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standardsSupervise and assign maintenance tasks when requiredAssist in training newly assigned personnelOperate special purpose and standard vehicles as authorizedMaintain strong FOD awareness, housekeeping, and safety standardsSupport weekend and holiday maintenance as required to meet mission readiness requirementsEssential FunctionsSupervise and perform daily maintenance tasksSchedule and coordinate maintenance activitiesCommunicate maintenance status to leadershipMaintain aircraft records and documentationManage maintenance inventoryProvide recommendations for maintenance solutionsWork extended hours as needed to support operational requirementsMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum four (4) years of experienceFAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate (no violations)Valid drivers licenseAbility to pass a background checkPreferred QualificationsMinimum five (5) years of experience on General Aviation aircraftMinimum three (3) years of supervisory experienceStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and maintenance software
