Loan Officer
Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Loan Officer to join our financial services team. Duties
Evaluate client financial information to determine loan eligibility and suitability
Assist clients with loan origination processes, including application submission and documentation collection
Conduct credit analysis and assess risk based on credit reports and financial data
Ensure compliance with TILA, Fair Housing regulations, and other federal and state laws
Prepare and review contracts, disclosures, and other legal documents related to loans
Collaborate with underwriters and mortgage servicing teams to facilitate smooth loan approval workflows
Utilize financial software such as Quicken, accounting software, and specialized mortgage platforms for processing applications
Negotiate loan terms with clients while maintaining adherence to company policies and industry standards
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FNMA guidelines, escrow procedures, and banking regulations
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly and professionally
Keep detailed records of all loan transactions using 10-key typing skills and accurate data entry
Skills
Proven experience as a Loan Officer for at least 3 years experience
Strong negotiation skills to effectively communicate loan options and terms to clients
Knowledge of FNMA guidelines, mortgage servicing, underwriting, escrow processes, and fair housing regulations
Proficiency with financial software such as Quicken, accounting software, and specialized mortgage platforms
Ability to perform credit analysis, contract review, and basic math calculations accurately
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly
Familiarity with TILA disclosures, loan processing procedures, and banking operations
Competency in 10-key typing for efficient data entry and record keeping
Strong understanding of financial services regulations and compliance standards
This role is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, proactive problem-solvers with a passion for helping clients navigate the complexities of home financing. Prior experience in loan origination or mortgage lending is preferred.
