This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to respond to outages while maintaining safety and quality standards.\n\nJob Description:\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\nPerform independent fusion splicing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber in aerial and underground environments.\n\nConduct comprehensive fiber testing using OTDRs, power meters, and light sources.\n\nInterpret fiber schematics, splicing plans, route diagrams, and color codes to ensure proper connectivity.\n\nCreate accurate splice documentation, as-builts, and test records per project requirements.\n\nTroubleshoot and restore network outages efficiently to minimize service disruption.\n\nCoordinate with construction, engineering, and network operations teams to meet project milestones.\n\nMentor Fiber Splicer I employees and support job site safety practices.\n\nMaintain, calibrate, and safely operate splicing and testing equipment.\n\nParticipate in an on-call rotation to support emergency restorations and after-hours service needs.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\n\nHigh school diploma or GED required; technical fiber training preferred.\n\n2–4 years of fiber splicing experience in telecommunications field environments.\n\nProficiency with fusion splicers (e.g., Fujikura, Sumitomo), OTDRs, and fiber testing equipment.\n\nStrong understanding of fiber construction, testing, and documentation standards.\n\nValid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; CDL preferred.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nFOA Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) or equivalent certification.\n\nExperience with FTTH, backbone, and ISP/OSP fiber projects.\n\nFamiliarity with GIS-based documentation systems and digital reporting tools.\n\nWorking Conditions\n\nField-based role with outdoor work in varying weather conditions.\n\nRegional travel with occasional overnight stays.\n\nParticipation in an on-call rotation for emergency repairs and cutovers.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nAbility to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.\n\nProlonged kneeling, crouching, and sitting in splice trailers or vaults.\n\nAbility to work in confined spaces and elevated work areas.\n\nWhy Join Us\n\nAt TriTechne, you’ll help deliver reliable connectivity that powers homes, businesses, and communities.
