Network Security Engineer

Title: Network Security EngineerLocation: Addison, TX - hybrid 2 days a week Job SummaryThe Network Security Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, developing, evaluating, testing, and integrating enterprise security infrastructure. This role focuses on implementing and supporting multiple security solutions across on-prem and cloud environments. The engineer will collaborate with teams across IT, including DevOps, Networking, and Application teams, as well as external partners, to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant infrastructure design.This role plays a key part in the Information Security Technology and Operations program, supporting alignment with security policies, corporate standards, strategic objectives, and regulatory requirements.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with engineers and architects across DevOps, Networking, and Application teams to deploy and manage physical and virtual firewalls across private and public cloud environmentsDesign and support network peering, routing, and segmentation strategies to ensure secure and optimized infrastructure performanceMonitor industry trends, including emerging threats and zero-day vulnerabilities, and implement timely security patches and mitigationsLead and mentor junior members of the security engineering teamDesign and implement network security architecture in public cloud environments using automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practicesDevelop and enforce deployment standards, guidelines, and best practices for security infrastructureConfigure and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for security infrastructure to detect anomalies and outagesEnsure capacity planning and performance standards are met across security systemsMaintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, diagrams, and architecture designsEvaluate and recommend new security technologies to improve efficiency, security posture, and business alignmentProvide hands-on Tier III support during major incident response and outage eventsParticipate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex security issuesRequired Skills & ExperienceHands-on experience with enterprise firewall deployment and administrationStrong experience with network security design, architecture, and operationsExperience working in hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud)Strong understanding of network segmentation, routing, and peering conceptsExperience supporting secure application delivery environmentsPreferred / Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as GitLab and TerraformExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS and AzureFamiliarity with healthcare or regulated environments (HIPAA, SOX, NIST)Experience designing zero trust security architectures and reducing attack surfaceExperience working with enterprise security vendors and technologies, including:Palo Alto FirewallsPalo Alto PrismaCitrix NetScalerVMware NSXExperience with full-stack secure application deliverySoft Skills & Work StyleStrong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teamsAbility to operate in a fast-paced, production-critical environmentStrong analytical and troubleshooting skillsAbility to mentor and guide junior engineersStrong documentation and organizational skillsWork EnvironmentHybrid enterprise IT and cloud security environmentCross-functional collaboration with DevOps, Networking, and Application teamsInvolvement in both project-based engineering and production support activitiesParticipation in on-call or escalation support during critical incidentsAbout INSPYR Solutions Technology is our focus and quality is our commitment.
