Our AI agents answer calls, book jobs, and follow up on leads around the clock, plugging directly into the field service software our customers already run. We launched in late 2024, are growing quickly, and are a small, senior team where every person has direct impact on the product and the customers. The roleYou'll be our first Forward-Deployed Engineer — the technical bridge between our product and our customers. When a contractor signs on, you make it work for their business: building their voice agent prompts and configurations, wiring up integrations with their field service management system, and writing custom code when their workflow needs it. You'll be the person on the call when a customer says \"can it do this?\" — and usually the one who makes the answer yes. There's a second half to this job that we care about just as much. Most of our customers are running great businesses but are behind on AI. Part of the value of working with us is that we help them catch up — setting up tools like Claude, showing them how AI actually fits into a service company, and translating the hype into things they can use on Monday. You'll lead that enablement work. What you learn in the field feeds straight back into the product. You'll work closely with our CTO and senior engineer to turn recurring customer needs into features rather than one-offs.What you'll do • Own technical onboarding for new customers: prompt design, voice agent configuration, and FSM integration setup • Scope and build customer-specific code and integration glue when the standard product doesn't cover a workflow • Contribute to the core product alongside our engineering team — Python/Django on the backend, React/TypeScript on the frontend, deployed on AWS • Debug live customer issues across the voice stack, integrations, and backend • Run AI enablement sessions with customer teams — setup, training, and practical guidance on using AI in a home services business • Surface patterns from customer work as product recommendations, and help decide what becomes core vs. stays custom • Partner with Sales and Customer Success on a clean handoff from signed deal to live, healthy accountWhat we're looking for • 1+ years of software engineering experience shipping production code in Python and React (TypeScript), and working with third-party APIs • Hands-on experience building with LLMs — prompt engineering, tool use, and an instinct for where these systems break • Strong communicator who can sit across from a non-technical business owner and explain what the system is doing and why • Ownership mindset — you like being the person accountable for a customer's outcome, not just a ticket • Comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-moving early-stage environmentNice to have • Experience with voice AI platforms (Vapi or similar) or telephony • Familiarity with field service management software such as ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, or Jobber • Background in or exposure to home services, trades, or SMB operations • Prior customer-facing engineering, solutions, or implementation workWhy this role • Founding FDE seat — you'll define how this function works here • Direct line to the CTO and real influence on the product roadmap • Customers who notice and appreciate what you build for them • An AI-native team using the latest models and tooling every dayLocationBased in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, with regular time with the team and occasional customer visits.","company":"Schedulebot","rawCompany":"schedulebot","city":"Rockwall","state":"TX","isRemote":false,"isActive":true,"createdAt":"2026-09-12T08:29:57.057Z","occupations":[{"code":"15-1252.00","title":"Software Developers","slug":"software-developers"},{"code":"15-1299.08","title":"Computer Systems Engineers/Architects","slug":"computer-systems-engineers-architects"},{"code":"17-2199.08","title":"Robotics Engineers","slug":"robotics-engineers"}],"industries":[{"code":"541511","title":"Custom Computer Programming Services","slug":"custom-computer-programming-services"},{"code":"513210","title":"Software Publishers","slug":"software-publishers"},{"code":"541512","title":"Computer Systems Design Services","slug":"computer-systems-design-services"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Forward Deployed Engineer","description":"About usScheduleBot is an AI voice and scheduling platform for home services contractors — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing.
