This role will provide technical expertise in packaging systems, material evaluations, distribution testing, and engineering support for commercial operations and new product initiatives.\nResponsibilities\nSupport the design, evaluation, qualification, and continuous improvement of primary and secondary packaging systems.\nPerform technical assessments and testing of packaging materials and components including labels, trays, lidding materials, sterile barrier packaging, cartons, corrugate, and leaflets.\nDevelop, execute, and document engineering studies, technical evaluations, and distribution testing protocols in compliance with ASTM D4169, ISO, TAPPI, USP, and EP standards.\nLead investigations, troubleshooting activities, and root cause analysis related to packaging materials, components, and processes.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Process Development, Supply Chain, and Regulatory Affairs to support commercial operations and product lifecycle activities.\nGenerate and review engineering drawings, technical specifications, protocols, reports, and change control documentation.\nSupport packaging component qualifications, material selection, and implementation of engineering improvements.\nUtilize engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, SolidWorks, or equivalent applications to create and modify technical drawings and packaging designs.\nEnsure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and internal quality systems.\nManage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting business timelines.\nProvide technical leadership and support project execution in continuously evolving environments.\nQualifications\nDoctorate OR Master’s degree + 2 years of engineering experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering + 4 years of engineering experience.\nEducational background in Mechanical Engineering required.\nPackaging and Materials Science background preferred.\nFully bilingual (English/Spanish), both written and verbal.\nStrong understanding of primary and secondary healthcare packaging systems and common packaging materials.\nFamiliarity with distribution testing standards including ASTM D4169, ISO, TAPPI, USP, and EP.\nExperience writing technical protocols, performing engineering evaluations, and supporting technical reports.\nExperience creating and modifying engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, SolidWorks, or similar software.\nStrong technical problem-solving, analytical thinking, organizational, and project management skills.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.\nWorking knowledge of GMP and GDP requirements within regulated industries.\nAbility to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and lead project initiatives.\nExperience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or regulated manufacturing industries.\nKnowledge of packaging validation, material qualification, and change management processes.\nFamiliarity with sterile barrier systems and healthcare packaging requirements.\nExperience supporting packaging investigations, deviations, and CAPA activities.\nSchedule flexibility may be required based on business needs.\nJob Type: Full-time\nPay: $43.00 -
