As one of the most diverse and flexible beverage manufacturers in the country, we produce everything from teas and energy drinks to malt-based beverages.\n\nOur Opportunity: Quality Control Lab Technician\n\nStatus: Full Time Day Shift [or Full Time Night Shift]\n\nHours: 12-hour shift - 6a-6p, [6p-6a].\n\nSchedule: 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month!)\n\nCompensation: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on experience\n\n [Plus, a $2.00 night shift differential if applicable]\n\nSummary\n\nThis position performs daily quality control testing to ensure a quality product is being consistently produced at all times.\n\nWhat You Will Be Doing\n\nPerforms a variety of testing pertaining to energy drinks, including; carbonation, brix, weight of cans, tasting of product for conformity.\nNeeds to be familiar with all products produced at Cold Spring Brewing Company to ensure that no out of specification products are produced or released.\nAble to follow procedures precisely.\nAble to accurately collect samples for testing purposes, retention samples, and customer samples.\nPerform hourly (sometimes half hour) quality checks which include, but not limited to pH, titration and brix, carbonation, taste odor and appearance, and can weights.\nEnsures codes on cans and packaging are correct. Inspect cans for dents, scratches, and punctures to ensure they are acceptable. Ensure correct materials are used during production.\nPerforms quality audits of processing area every four hours or each product change to ensure all production areas are producing to customer specification.\nResponsible for monitoring pasteurization temperatures. Monitors are run every hour during production. Technician must be able to interpret the pasteurizer data and confirm product has reached adequate temperatures per customer specifications.\nResponsible for batch approval. Syrup must meet customer specification before canning. Batch sheets are filled out completely.\nPerforms HPLC analysis of products for caffeine and preservative levels. Technician can troubleshoot inconsistencies with equipment.\nPerform Titratable Acidity analysis of products.\nEnsure accuracy of all measuring devices, including their calibration.\nPerforms microbiological analysis of products, water, and environment. Familiar with sterile technique, filtration and pour plate methods.\nPerforms surface testing to ensure sanitary practices.\nAble to record data correctly and enter the information into the CSBC Quality Control Database.\nAdhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined in Employee Handbook\nAdhere to and comply with quality production and Food Safety.\nResponsible for generating COA and Micro reports.\nHighly accurate and detail orientated.\nGood reasoning and problem-solving skills.\nGood at multitasking and utilizing time efficiently.\nPerforms all other duties as assigned or required by supervisor/customer.\n\nWhat You Need to Bring\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nKnowledge working in Outlook, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and use of customer portals\nStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records\nRegular use of computer, writing, and filing records\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nExperience with SAP or other inventory management systems\nExperience with GMP and/or HACCP regulations\nBachelor’s degree in Biology or Chemistry\n1-3 years’ experience in a Quality environment or manufacturing environment\n\nJob Setting\n\nThis role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\n\nEmployees will experience varying physical demands throughout the day, including standing for extended periods and walking on occasionally slippery floors. Primarily works in office setting, may spend time in the production/warehouse environment.\n\nDue to the nature of the facility, temperatures may fluctuate based on outside weather conditions including heat and cold.\n\nThe work environment can be loud, and hearing protection (ear plugs) is required. Additionally, to ensure safety and hygiene, employees must wear hairnets and refrain from wearing jewelry while on the production floor.\n\nAlcohol is an ingredient in products we produce.
