Logistics Coordinator
Position SummaryThe Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in keeping manufacturing plants and distribution centers running by arranging inbound transportation from contracted suppliers for raw materials, parts, and items used to build finished goods across multiple business lines. This role is heavily focused on email‐based communication, customer service , and problem solving , working cross ‐ functionally with Procurement , Suppliers , Carriers , and Internal Operations to ensure materials arrive on time and production stays on schedule.Key Responsibilities+ Transportation Planning - Execute transportation planning cycles three times daily to secure carrier capacity and prevent production delays.+ Supplier Coordination - Arrange inbound transportation from contracted suppliers into manufacturing facilities and distribution centers.+ Cross‐Functional Collaboration - Partner closely with Procurement to leverage the approved carrier network and resolve shipment issues.+ Email‐Driven Communication - Manage high ‐ volume email correspondence with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams; minimal phone work.+ Issue Resolution - Troubleshoot delays, clarify shipment details, and escalate risks to avoid facility downtime.+ Customer Service Excellence - Deliver responsive, solutions ‐ oriented support to internal and external partners.+ Data & Systems Work - Utilize TMS platforms (Oracle OTM preferred) and Microsoft Office to manage shipments and track carrier performance.+ Team Collaboration - Work within a tight ‐ knit, supportive team that values humor, teamwork, and shared problem solving.Required Qualifications+ Bachelor's degree OR equivalent logistics/warehouse/transportation experience.+ Experience in transportation planning , warehouse operations , logistics coordination , or supplier‐facing roles .+ Strong customer service and problem‐solving skills - must be able to think ahead and take next steps independently.+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams).+ Experience with TMS systems (Oracle OTM preferred) or WMS systems is a strong plus.+ Ability to manage high ‐ volume email communication with accuracy and professionalism.Work Environment & Schedule+ Hybrid: 4 days onsite + Fridays remote .+ Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (earliest leave is 4 PM).+ OT: Rotating one week per month until 5:30 PM to support West Coast suppliers.+ Peak Season: Additional OT expected (now through summer).+ Team Culture: Supportive, collaborative, fun, and communicativeJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davidson, NC.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
