In addition to our recent growth in Federal Civilian agencies, we are seeking to expand our capabilities in cloud development and footprint in national-security focused agencies within the Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community.\n\nWe are seeking to hire a Mid-level Software Developer to our team!\n\nClient:\nCTEC develops and delivers innovative customer-centric technologies and solutions that support the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) Health and Insurance business unit and Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\n\nSoftware Development: Design, develop, and enhance software applications and data-driven solutions using modern programming languages and frameworks to support enterprise business systems.\nApplication & Data Integration: Build and integrate software components and data services across cloud-based environments to ensure reliable system interoperability.\nDatabase Development: Develop and maintain applications utilizing relational databases and data processing frameworks, with emphasis on SQL-driven data operations.\nPython & PySpark Development: Implement data processing scripts, automation routines, and distributed data processing logic using Python and PySpark to support data-intensive workflows.\nCode Quality & Documentation: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code; participate in code reviews and maintain software documentation.\nTesting & Debugging: Develop and execute unit and integration tests, debug defects, and resolve performance issues to improve system reliability.\nAgile Delivery: Participate in Agile development ceremonies, manage tasks through DevOps tools, and use source code control systems such as Git.\nCloud Implementation: Support development and deployment of applications within Azure-based environments.\nContinuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve application performance, automation, and development processes.\nWorks under moderate supervision with guidance from senior personnel.\n\nSkills & Work Experience:\n\nProfessional Experience: At least three (3+) years of experience in software development or application engineering roles.\nStrong proficiency in SQL for database development, data queries, and data manipulation.\nStrong proficiency in Python, with experience using PySpark for distributed data processing.\nExperience developing applications in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.\nWorking knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.\nExperience developing RESTful APIs and integrating web services.\nFamiliarity with source control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines.\nWorking knowledge of SDLC methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.\nStrong problem-solving and debugging skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nPreferred:\n\nExperience with Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, or other Azure application services.\nFamiliarity with containerization tools such as Docker.\nExperience with data processing or analytics applications.\nExperience supporting federal IT systems or large enterprise modernization programs.\n\nEducation:\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
