In this position, you'll oversee both aerial and underground fiber construction - leading crews, driving quality, and ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to DFN and industry standards. Monitor open service orders and ensure they are progressing in a timely manner.\nAssist the director in working with other departments within the company, such as engineering and operations, to ensure that outside plant projects are aligned with overall business goals.\nDevelop and maintain documentation for projects assigned to your team.\nManage relationships with outside vendors and contractors to ensure that all work is completed to the company's satisfaction.\nAt the request of the director, meet with customers, business owners, stakeholders, and state and local government personnel to discuss planning and building of the fiber network as needed. Resolve complaints, violations, and conflicts as they arise.\nIdentify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the outside plant team.\nEnsure that all outside plant facilities under your supervision comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards for safety and quality.\nTake after-hours and weekend calls as needed. Report to work as needed after-hours and on weekends in urgent situations.\nSafely operate and maintain company vehicles.\nWork in the field with crews as needed.\nTrain and onboard new employees making sure they understand the responsibilities of their role.\nAssess the job performance of the employees you supervise and identify areas for improvement.\nParticipate in the management and resolution of employee relations issues on your team, involving HR when necessary.\nMaintain a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing company policies and procedures and adhering to legal requirements.\n\nWhat You'll Need to Be Successful\nDegree in construction management or a related field preferred but not required.\n5+ years of experience in outside plant construction required, preferably in the telecommunications industry. Management level experience strongly preferred.\nStrong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.\nStrong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders, including engineers, technicians, contractors, and senior executives.\nKnowledge of outside plant design principles, including fiber optic networks, transmission poles, conduits, and other infrastructure.\nKnowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to outside plant facilities.\nAbility to analyze data and make informed decisions based on that analysis.\nComputer skills: use of PC and other industry specific applications necessary to complete job functions; Proficiency in Office 365\nKnowledge in the following programs is preferred: GIS systems & NISC\nAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.\nAble to meet physical demands with reasonable accommodation if necessary.
