Assistant Project ManagerA growing general contractor is seeking a construction-savvy Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support field and project management teams on active commercial jobsites across the West Coast. This onsite position is ideal for individuals who are highly organized, documentation-focused, and ready to take ownership of submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and change orders in a fast-paced environment.You'll play a crucial role in ensuring project documentation is up to date, properly tracked, and compliant, while supporting daily operations and acting as the right hand to the Project Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Project Managers and Superintendents with daily construction activities and jobsite needsManage and maintain critical construction documentation:Submittals tracking, reviewing, and logging responsesRFIs coordinating with design teams and field personnelShop drawings reviewing for compliance and constructabilityChange Orders maintaining logs, backup documentation, and pricing supportUse Procore to keep all project documentation current and organizedAssist with jobsite logistics, subcontractor coordination, and weekly reportingHelp with maintaining project schedules and tracking material lead timesEnsure compliance with project specifications, permitting, and closeout documentationAttend onsite meetings and communicate updates between field and office teamsSupport punchlist, quality control, and safety reporting effortsQualifications24 years of construction field or project coordination experience; Assistant Superintendent experience with strong paperwork skills is also a fitProficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook), and document tracking systemsStrong understanding of submittal and RFI processes, including contractor/designer coordinationFamiliarity with commercial TI, retail, or fuel station construction is preferredAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawingsHighly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a dynamic field environmentExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceFull medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement plan with company matchPaid holidays and PTOOpportunities for training, certification (e.g., Procore, OSHA 30), and advancement to PM rolesPositive, supportive team culture and long-term career path
