This role involves designing structural systems, foundations, and site layouts that meet technical, safety, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of civil/structural engineering in the power and utilities sector, experience with applicable codes and standards, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, cost-effective, and reliable solutions.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nEngineering & Design\nPerform structural analysis and design of foundations, steel structures, concrete, and equipment supports for substations, transmission lines, and related facilities.\nPrepare engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.\nConduct site grading, drainage, stormwater management, and erosion control design.\nEnsure all designs comply with applicable codes (ASCE, AISC, ACI, NESC, local building codes).\nReview and stamp engineering drawings (PE required, or working toward licensure).\nProject Support & Collaboration\nProvide civil/structural engineering support throughout all project phases: feasibility, design, permitting, procurement, and construction.\nWork closely with electrical, mechanical, and project management teams to ensure seamless coordination of designs.\nSupport proposal development, cost estimation, and schedule planning for civil/structural scope of work.\nReview vendor and contractor submittals for compliance with project specifications.\nField Support & Quality Assurance\nConduct site visits, inspections, and field assessments to support construction and resolve issues.\nProvide technical guidance and troubleshooting for construction teams.\nEnsure quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes are applied to civil/structural deliverables.\nCompliance & Safety\nEnsure all designs and construction activities meet federal, state, and local regulations, as well as client specifications.\nIncorporate safety, reliability, and sustainability into all engineering practices.\nSupport environmental permitting and compliance efforts where civil/structural work is involved.\n\nQualifications:\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.\n8 - 10+ years of civil/structural engineering experience in the power/utility industry (substations, transmission, renewable energy, or industrial facilities).\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license.\nProficiency with engineering software such as STAAD.Pro, RISA, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.\nStrong knowledge of industry codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, AISC, NESC, IEEE).\nExcellent problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills.\nMust be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.\nPreferred:\nExperience with EPC projects and working with utility clients.\nFamiliarity with geotechnical engineering and soil-structure interaction.\nExperience coordinating with contractors and managing subcontractors.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to lift up to 70 lbs.\nWork outdoors in various weather conditions and work in confined spaces.\nMust be able to perform physical labor including climbing ladders, standing for extended periods of time, drive regularly, fly regularly.\nAbility to use hand tools and power tools.\n\nRequired Abilities:\nAble to pass a pre-employment drug screen.\nComplete a satisfactory criminal background check.\nAble to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.\nMust have a valid driver's license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.\n\nAt LND Technical Services LLC, we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment.
