You’ll be right in the detail, shaping designs, influencing decisions, and enabling squads to deliver high‑quality, scalable solutions at pace.\nYou’ll work across a varied and evolving technology landscape, collaborating with Solution Architects, Engineering Principals, Developers, Product Owners and SREs to turn big ambitions into working, resilient systems.\nYou’ll have the space to experiment, improve, challenge the status quo and help define how Evri builds technology - now and next.\nThis role is hybrid / remote, with meaningful connection points into Morley when required.\n\nWhat you’ll be doing\nTurning high‑level solution designs into clear, scalable and secure low‑level designs\nSetting the technical direction within your domain and championing best practice\nWorking hands‑on with engineering teams to guide delivery and solve complex problems\nDriving architectural consistency while knowing when pragmatism wins\nTackling technical debt head‑on and raising engineering standards\nSupporting incident resolution and system resilience\nLeading documentation, standardisation and knowledge sharing\nExploring new technologies and running proofs of concept\nHelping optimise cloud usage and infrastructure costs\nPartnering with internal teams and third‑party suppliers to ensure quality outcomes\nWhat you’ll bring\nProven experience designing and delivering solutions in large, complex environments\nDeep hands‑on expertise with Java and Spring Boot\nStrong experience with AWS, including serverless technologies\nConfidence with API‑led design, modern coding practices and object‑oriented principles\nExperience building distributed systems and working with messaging and data platforms\nThe ability to zoom in and out - from architecture diagrams to real‑world delivery\nClear communication skills and the confidence to challenge, influence and lead\nA collaborative mindset and genuine passion for great engineering\nWhy Evri\nBecause here, your architecture won’t sit on a shelf.\nYou’ll work at national scale, with modern platforms, real complexity and teams who care deeply about doing things well.
