As a Systems Engineer, you will help establish that technical foundation—turning stakeholder needs into actionable requirements and designs while supporting integration, verification, and implementation across the system lifecycle.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\nRequirements Engineering & Management\n\nAnalyze user requirements, CONOPS, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.\n\nGuide users in formulating requirements, evaluating alternative approaches, and assessing technical feasibility.\n\nManage system and derived requirements to support delivery of production systems compatible with defined architectures, including DoDAF and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments.\n\nAssist in developing system and functional requirements and allocating them to hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.\n\nDerive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements and ensure they are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable.\n\nIdentify stakeholder needs and functions logically inferred or implied by system requirements that are essential to system effectiveness.\n\nDevelop derived Information Assurance requirements addressing confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, availability, identification, authentication, access control, accountability, and applicable security mechanisms.\n\nSystem Architecture & Design\n\nAnalyze system requirements and support design and development activities.\n\nGenerate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.\n\nDevelop system design solutions that satisfy system requirements and functional analyses.\n\nAllocate real-time process budgets and error budgets to system and subsystem components.\n\nDevelop system architecture and system design documentation.\n\nIncorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.\n\nParticipate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) developing new capabilities based on relevant development and operational considerations.\n\nInterfaces, Baselines & Technical Coordination\n\nParticipate in interface definition, design, and configuration changes among affected groups and individuals throughout the system lifecycle.\n\nHelp establish and gain approval of system or component definitions—including requirements, designs, interfaces, and test procedures—that provide common reference points for hardware and software developers.\n\nCoordinate cross-discipline resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews.\n\nProvide technical leadership supporting the integration of requirements, design, and technology.\n\nVerification & Implementation Planning\n\nDefine methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for verifying systems, subsystems, and work products against established requirements in a written plan.\n\nGuide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of Systems Engineering Management Plans and system integration and test plans.\n\nSupport alignment among requirements, system design, interfaces, integration, and verification activities.\n\nSystems Engineering Documentation & Program Planning\n\nDevelop and contribute to systems-engineering documentation, including Systems Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.\n\nDevelop technical documentation supporting system architecture and design activities.\n\nReview and provide input to program and contract Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), work packages, and the Integrated Master Plan (IMP).\n\nGovernment & Stakeholder Coordination\n\nInteract with Government stakeholders regarding systems-engineering technical considerations, problems, issues, and conflicts.\n\nCommunicate with program personnel, Government overseers, developers, engineers, and senior executives.\n\nMaintain responsibility for the technical integrity of assigned Systems Engineering work and associated deliverables.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nClearance\n\nActive TS/SCI with Polygraph at time of Application, to be considered for the position.\n\nEducation & Experience\n\nMinimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.\n\nFive (5) additional years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.\n\nIf you’re looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
