Donlin Gold is designed to be one of just a handful of gold mines worldwide that produces more than one million ounces of gold annually.\n\nPost Description:\n\nReporting to the General Manager, the Senior Process Engineer will provide technical input into several areas of project design and review. Responsibilities will include both direct engineering work, as well as guiding consultants and team members in various aspects of the project. Work subject matter will include, but not limited to capacity in engineering, project management and feasibility, and construction planning. The successful candidate will participate in upstream communication of design progress and updates to Donlin management and JV partners.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLead and complete process engineering components for scoping, prefeasibility, and feasibility studies.\n\nUnderstand project requirements related to scope, cost, and schedule.\n\nCoordinate and guide the process engineering team to deliver project objectives.\n\nCoordinate and assist with interpreting, clarifying and implementing engineering and design information for technical issues.\n\nDevelop process engineering deliverables, including test work definitions, design criteria, mass & energy balances, etc.\n\nDefine the process block flow diagram and unit operations.\n\nLiaising with other discipline engineers to ensure designs conform to process requirements.\n\nUndertake tradeoff studies to resolve options.\n\nInterface and coordinate with other technology subject matter experts (SMEs), external consultants and technology vendors for input to the process design.\n\nIdentify, scope and manage process test work (on site or laboratory based).\n\nOversee the development and implementation of process technology.\n\nProvide technical guidance on complex problems and approve project plans.\n\nReview and/or develop technical equipment specifications, evaluate pilot or test equipment performance, and make final recommendations/selection towards equipment purchases.\n\nOther related tasks required to ensure project success.\n\nEducation and Experience:\n\nDegree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Mineral Processing.\n\nUnderstand the technical requirements and deliverables for pre‑feasibility and feasibility studies related to mining and public disclosure documents (NI 43‑101, S‑K 1300, JORC).\n\nExperience in Gold and precious metal sulfide flotation with refractory gold preferred.\n\nTechnical knowledge of engineering systems, calculations, and application of engineering methods.\n\nHazard identification and management processes such as HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA.\n\nGood working knowledge of computer‑aided design tools and simulation programs.\n\nMinimum of 15+ years of experience in design, engineering, commissioning, and operation of minerals processing equipment.\n\nLeadership experience in technical management.\n\nExperience in scoping and managing metallurgical test work programs.\n\nExperience in engineering planning for studies and projects.\n\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.\n\nAbility to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing demands.\n\nStrong written and communication skills.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nLicensed Professional Engineer or Qualified Person per SEC requirements.\n\nStrong understanding of both organic and inorganic chemistry.\n\nWorking Conditions:\n\nThis position may require periodic travel to the Donlin project site and other locations within Alaska.
