Stock Operator

The Stock Operator is responsible for running the stock laminator and all other machines necessary to produce mounted materials. The Stock Operator must demonstrate a commitment to the PD core values of integrity, passion, possibility and the ability to work at the speed of retail. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Prepare the setup and operation of the stock laminator Use load flippers to stack and jog stock Watch and detect print defects in sheets being mounted Inspect corrugated sheets for curling and other defects during production runs, and inform operator of possible problems Flip and flop sheet loads as needed to maintain flat stock Direct Helpers and other employees as needed to increase productivity Use fork truck and other equipment to move stock and other supplies as needed Read, understand, and interpret job tickets Provide support and assistance to others as directed or when needed with print and other production Perform routine maintenance and assist with repairs of equipment Flexibility to work between jobs, job classifications, and buildings as directed by management Clean workstation and the shop floor as needed Provide training and support for less skilled employees Ensure that companys safety regulations and procedures are followed Performs other related duties as assigned Competencies Knowledge of the setup of machine and operating the stock laminator Understand the operation of sheet feeders and stackers Thorough understanding of corrugated, card stock, and other materials common to laminating and mounting procedures Thorough understanding of adhesives and its properties in laminating and mounting Proficient with using load flippers and other equipment common to large format printing and mounting Proficient in operating fork trucks and other equipment needed to arrange stocks and supplies Knowledge of printing and print production including but not limited to file setup, printing, laminating, mounting, and cutting Knowledge of trouble shooting and problem-solving during production Strong basic math and computer skills Follows all safety and workplace policies Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time Minimum Education/Certification High School Diploma or GED Minimum Experience 2 years of experience in mounting or automatic feeder operations Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Walking, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required throughout the course of the work day
