This role is based primarily in Mitchell, SD and is responsible for operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and assisting with final assembly tasks to ensure trailers are completed to TRAIL-EZE quality standards.\n\nA CDL is preferred (not required) for this position; however, this is not a delivery or transport role. CDL responsibilities are limited to backing trailers in and out of facility bays and occasional internal yard movement. On rare occasions, the position may assist with moving trailers between TRAIL-EZE locations in Platte, SD and Corsica, SD.\n\nThis position is focused on hands-on production support within the final department and is not a driving or over-the-road role.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nOperate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently\nBack trailers in and out of facility bays and staging areas using CDL-qualified operation (if applicable)\nPosition and stage trailers throughout the Mitchell production yard as needed\nAssist with final assembly tasks including installation of hydraulic lines and related components\nApply decals, labels, and finishing components to completed trailers\nPerform final inspections to ensure quality standards are met prior to release\nSupport general final department workflow and production needs\nMove trailers within the facility to support sequencing and production flow\nOccasionally assist with internal trailer movement between TRAIL-EZE locations (Platte, SD and Corsica, SD) when required\nMaintain strict adherence to safety procedures and proper PPE usage\nWork collaboratively with production, quality, and fabrication teams\nPerform other duties as assigned to support final department operations\n\nQualifications and Skills:\n\nValid CDL preferred (not required)\nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred\nExperience operating forklifts and/or overhead cranes preferred\nPrior manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly experience strongly preferred\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship\nAbility to safely operate and maneuver large trailers in tight spaces\nMechanical aptitude and familiarity with hydraulic systems preferred\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nStrong safety mindset with consistent PPE compliance\n\nWork Environment and Physical Requirements:\n\nManufacturing and industrial shop environment\nFrequent standing, bending, lifting, climbing, and walking\nWork performed around large equipment, trailers, and moving machinery\nMust be able to lift up to 50+ pounds as needed\nExposure to noise, metal fabrication environments, and outdoor yard conditions\nRequires safe operation of forklifts, cranes, and trailers in confined spaces\n\nBenefits and Schedule:\n\nCompetitive pay\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance\n401(k) with company match\nPaid time off\nMonday–Thursday schedule with weekends off\nStable, full-time in-facility position (Mitchell, SD)\nStrong, team-oriented work environment\nLong-term career growth opportunities\n\nWhy TRAIL-EZE?\n\nFamily-owned company with a proud 60+ year history\nStrong reputation for craftsmanship and quality\nWork-life balance with a 4-day work week\nBe part of a team where your skills and dedication directly impact the final product\n\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement\n\nTRAIL-EZE is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
