Thompson is headquartered in Sumter, South Carolina with offices spanning the United States, primarily southeast and central United States.\nPosition Description\nThe Project Engineer is part of the Project Management team and is responsible for the design and analysis of new and existing hydroelectric turbine products.\nJob Responsibilities\nEvaluate equipment condition and provide repair and manufacturing recommendations to customers and the sales group. Recommendations include options for performance enhancements.\nKeep records of all necessary inspection forms, ensuring that any manufacturing group receives accurate measurements/information.\nRequest purchase orders and get quotes from sub-contractors as necessary.\nWork with the Project Management team to determine project costs.\nCreates 3D solid models and 2D drawings of components, using CAD equipment\nEvaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releases.\nCompiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or products.\nCompletes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.\nDevelops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management.\nDetermines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors.\nJob Qualifications\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering.\nTwo (2) or more years of construction experience\nExperience in working with hydro turbines and generators is preferred.\nMust possess a valid driver's license.\nMust be able to travel.\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.\nMust be able to meet deadlines.\nBenefits\nWe strive to provide a competitive compensation and benefits package.
