The teams that the EPM will support have responsibility for ensuring that Apple products meet RF performance specifications and stay in sync with relevant government and industry regulations. To ensure RF compliance, testing is performed with a range of niche RF test equipment and setups, including conducted RF test stations, anechoic and semi-anechoic chambers, as well as custom crafted setups in indoor and outdoor environments. Testing is performed in the local Bay Area, San Diego as well as in other locations worldwide. The test setups include instrument and robotics automation, as needed. This is an individual contributor role. The successful candidate may support a variety of programs ranging from new wireless platform validation to new product integration, process improvement initiatives, and competitive analysis.\n\nDescription\n\nLead multiple parallel projects.\n\nCollaborate closely with RF test engineers and technicians to develop plans for compliance and conformance testing of Apple products including iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch among others.\n\nCoordinate and drive build-readiness reviews.\n\nManage specification reviews and the spec sign off process.\n\nTalk to System EPMs to coordinate regulatory testing within the timeline for product MP release.\n\nWork closely with factory teams to enable RF testing in development and mass production.\n\nAttend and drive technical sessions with suppliers/design partners to track & follow up issues/customer concerns.\n\nAttend and drive collaboration and co-ordination sessions with multi-functional team members from SW/FW/HW to track feature enablement.\n\nPresent to management in weekly multi-functional meetings to align on project progress.\n\nPrepare issue/bug reports to present to system level teams, multi-functional teams and management.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\nBS degree + 10 years relevant experience\n\nRequires one of the following: RF Test Equipment or knowledge of cellular standards including WCDMA, LTE and 5G and/or Knowledge of 3GPP RF test specification and/or General knowledge of WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n2+ Years Technical Program or Project Management or Engineering Lead\n\nStrong desire to own/drive project development using well defined metrics.\n\nExperience working in a multifaceted engineering environment and real-time crisis leadership skills.\n\nExperience with disciplined issue reporting, bug tracking, and communication of program risks & status.\n\nCandidate should be able to participate in technical discussions related to RF testing with the multi-functional teams.\n\nCandidate should have excellent communications skills and should understand how to tailor content to meet the needs of the intended audience.\n\nAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 and $305,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.\n\nApple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
