In this role, you will handle hands-on installations and lead small teams on multi-week projects. Life, AD&D and LTD insurancePaid Vacation and Holidays Company-Matched 401(k) and IRA Retirement Savings Key Responsibilities:Install and Maintain: Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain structured cabling systems (Cat5/Cat6, fiber, coax)Cabinet & Conduit Work: Perform conduit installation, cable dressing, and termination inside IDF/MDF cabinetsDevice Setup: Install and configure CCTV and network devicesProject Leadership: Lead small teams on multi-week projects to ensure timely, safe, and budget-conscious deliveryBlueprints: Read and interpret blueprints and site mapsAerial Work: Operate BOOM and/or scissor lifts to work at heights up to 40+ feetTesting & Compliance: Conduct system testing and ensure compliance with safety and industry standardsCommunication: Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with clients and team membersQualifications:Experience: 2-5 years of hands-on experience in low-voltage systems, structured cabling, networking, and CCTVTechnical Knowledge: Strong understanding of fiber optic termination, network infrastructure, and Point-of-Sale (POS) deployment/troubleshootingLicensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years)Transportation: Reliable personal transportationTools: Must possess basic telecom tools and standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Leadership: Comfortable working independently and leading small teamsTravel Flexibility: Willingness to travel extensively (4-6 weeks at a time) and work flexible shifts, including nights and weekendsHighly Desirable Skills (Preferred But Not Required)Industry certifications: BICSI, OSHA, MSHA, AVIXA CTS, Panduit, Belden, or CorningHands-on experience with fusion splicingExperience running DSX cable certification testingAbout: Wachter is a family-owned company since 1930 and we see each employee as a critical piece of the Wachter Family.
