The employee exercises decision making and some discretion regarding specific procedures and work methods to complete given assignments.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nAccomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing policies, and procedures.\n\nMaintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points.\n\nEnsures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques, completing production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.\n\nProvide production updates and communication with production manager and the customer service team.\n\nMust be able to read and interpret drawings/specifications.\n\nPrepare a backlog sheet for customer service and management.\n\nPrint orders and bill of lading for production.\n\nMaintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.\n\nMaintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, analytical problem solving, and multi‑task‑oriented skills a must.\n\nLANGUAGE SKILLS\nAbility to read and comprehend blueprints, instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.\n\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Basic mathematic skills.\n\nREASONING ABILITY\nMust be able to supervise and work in a team environment and participate, contribute, and support all team activities. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Must be able to delegate and complete multiple projects to meet company/production initiatives/goals. Efficient in problem solving, ability to address obstacles, and adapt accordingly to meet deadlines to ensure production needs are satisfied. Good organization skills.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle to feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving machining equipment, moving mechanical parts, dirt, oil, grease, metal shavings and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and there could be the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud with exposures ranging from the 80dB to more than 100dB at certain times.
