Dietz and Watson was founded in 1939 by Gottlieb Dietz, a talented young German sausage maker. His primary goal was to produce the most flavorful, highest quality deli meats in the marketplace, to please even the most discriminating palate. His old-world recipes and commitment to “quality above all” demanded nothing less than the freshest lean beef, ham, pork turkey breast and chicken breast. He then added only the finest all-natural spices and seasonings gathered from around the world.
Today, at Dietz & Watson, the fourth generation of the family continues Gottlieb Dietz’s dedication and commitment in preparing our Premium Deli Meats and Artisan Cheeses. In fact, all of our standards exceed those set by government guidelines.

Our team is currently looking for a Full Time Sales Merchandiser to keep up our level of commitment to safety and customer service.
The Dietz & Watson Merchandiser’s main job function is to assist with sales and create brand awareness. A sales merchandiser should have knowledge of our products as they relate to the deli.
The duties of a Dietz & Watson Merchandiser are listed below but not limited to:
Safely operate a deli slicer
Set up of deli cases and appropriately rotate deli product
Understand and execute schematics/planograms
Maintain marketing displays using Dietz & Watson Point of Sale (POS)
Needs to be a self-starter, work in a team environment and or with little or no supervision
Manage time effectively and productively
Complete all reports as necessary including store surveys
Consistently provide coverage to all stores within assigned territory based on store ranking
Make regular store visits documenting all concerns/problems (i.e. shortages, equipment problems, ordering issues, etc.) and addressing these concerns in a timely manner
Build and maintain customer relationships by displaying high-level customer service techniques to deli managers, employees, and store customers
Possess the knowledge and ability to both create and market Dietz & Watson programs
Training of all new store deli hires on the merits of Dietz & Watson and refresh training when needed
Communicate any information deemed necessary to Merchandiser Manager (i.e. grand openings, store closing, etc.)
Utilizing the monthly sales reports to achieve 100% distribution.
Explore opportunities for sales growth w/Merchandiser Manager
Maintain full displays
Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
Perform special projects outside of assigned territory
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Physical Requirements
Standing, Bending, Twisting
Ability to lift to 20 pounds frequently
Ability to lift to 50 pounds occasional
Push /pull carts containing product – occasionally up to 100 lbs.

Room Temperature while in stores
At times be in refrigerated cooler areas
Job Requirements
Flexibility and ability to travel (including flying) as needed and may be up to 30% of the time.
Must be able to read and write English
Must have computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Must possess communication, organization, creativity, and customization skills
Must be able to exercise independent decision-making skills on a regular basis
Must be available to work weekends on occasion
High school diploma or equivalence
1-2 years of customer service/sales experience preferred. Previous deli experience is a plus.
Must have a reliable vehicle and must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to pass the company issued ServSafe Manger exam
